Description from owner

Olive Store Cottage was originally built as a 'kalivi', a farm building for storing produce, sheltering animals and for the owners to live when working the land.

Αρ. Μητρώου Ακινήτου 587051 / Registery for Short-Term Rental in Greece.

In 2005 it was carefully and lovingly restored as a simple but beautiful holiday cottage. It has two large double bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. A cosy living and dining room with log burning stove. There is a well equipped kitchen and family bathroom with shower on the ground floor. The upstairs bedroom has an ensuite toilet and washbasin. Outside a covered terrace to enjoy shady summer living and cool evenings.

The owners house is about 70 meters away, and they are on hand to help you enjoy your holiday. Altogether the property is set within 3 acres of gardens, olive grove, orchard and woodland. We overlook the Aegean Sea and in the distance the island of Evia.

At the head of a beautiful valley in the south of the Pelion peninsula, we are in a small hamlet called 'Randi' just 5 minutes by car from the seaside village and harbour of Platania and from the 'hidden mountain village' of Promyri. This is a fabulous area, relatively undeveloped. It offers visitors excellent beaches, fabulous nature and wildlife. It is a popular area for hiking at any time of year except for the hottest months when the clear warm sea, quiet sandy beaches and wonderful harbourside tavernas will tempt you. In the winter there is a small friendly ski resort at Hania on Mount Pelion.

The owners are happy to help you plan hikes in Pelion and in summer to take you on their small (6 metre) traditional sailing boat 'Kaliope' to explore hidden beaches.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind review. You summarised the beauty of this area in early autumn perfectly. Pelion does have the ability to welcome you in it's arms and to embrace you in its peaceful nature, warmth, culture and beauty. For many, including us it draws you back and now we live here. It is our greatest pleasure to meet people like you and share some of the many delights of first acquaintance. We hope to welcome you again anytime of year. Best wishes, Chris and Kathryn

Owner's reply: Thanks for an excellent and informative review. We are delighted chose the relatively unknown Pelion for your first visit to Greece and we hope you decide to return to us in the future. The world of course is a big place but for many they make a special connection with Pelion and Platanias and become regular visitors. If you decide to come again we will be delighted to welcome you. The recently open Tembi tunnels on the Thessaloniki to Athens motorway has reduced the driving time. We normally make the journey without breaking any speed limits in under 4 hours, but if you have a week or more in the Pelion there is no need to rush! We hope to meet again sometime. Best wishes, Kathryn and Chris
