“Excellent”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2018

Booked this cottage for myself, my partner and our dogs. Margot the owner couldn’t have been anymore helpful. The cottage itself is perfectly situated and only a 2 minute walk to the Main Street. It was well equipped and although only 1 bedroom it had a good sized enclosed garden and plenty of room. It was warm, cosy, modern and had everything we needed. All in all a great experience and we will definitely return.

“Excellent cottage for holiday.”

Location of cottage ideal for peebles and surrounding towns within Scottish Borders. Margot provided excellent welcome pack including fresh flowers and wine, and provided good knowledge of area. Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Would highly recommend cottage for anyone looking for dog friendly accommodation in peebles, we would certainly use again if visiting area.

“Quiet cottage close to town”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2016

Dale Cottage is a bungalow on a quiet street, with a big garden that looks down onto the river walk. It's a short walk to the main centre, where there's cafes, shops and many attractions. The cottage has a good sized kitchen/diner overlooking the garden, a sweet living room, a bedroom on the front and a bathroom with shower. It's warmly presented and very homely, there's little noise from the road so no problems sleeping. The washer and dryer are in a room under the main building at the back, and the owner kindly allowed us to put our mountain bikes in here. Glentress Forest Park is 1 mile from the cottage on an off road track, the trails at Innerlaithen 5.5 miles on the same off road track. We visited Traquair House at Innerlaithen, well worth a visit (make sure and see the bear gates), also Roslyn Chapel (in the film The Davinci Code and the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel. Edinburgh is a bus ride away.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at Dale Cottage and hope to welcome you back again sometime.
