“Very Cosy and peaceful 'Tweed cottage'”
My husband and I stopped for a week in this delightful, cosy and spotless cottage. We were greeted with a welcome basket of goodies, and milk in the fridge, just what was needed after the long drive up from Shropshire. The cottage is in a quiet spot just off the high street, perfect location for walking to a wide choice of places to eat after a long day out. There are plenty of shops to choose from on the door step and the mainstream supermarkets (Sainsbury's) are a 5 min walk. As our holiday was focused around walking and biking, we did not use the car at all that week. Due to there not being any parking at Tweed Cottage we parked where Caroline had recommended, which is a short walk over the road. I felt reassured the car was safe while parked there all week. We did ask permission at a local church if we could park there while unloading and loading the car on arrival and departure, which was No problem. The shed for the bikes is a brick outhouse with a wooden padlocked door, we fit 2 bikes in stood up, 'I'm always anxious about the safety of my bike but this seemed pretty secure'. The cottage was so peaceful, no noise from the joining neighbour or local church. The cottage was warm and cosy, the heating was on when we arrived and Caroline recommended we leave it on constant due to the -5 temperatures that week. We used the log fire which made it all the more cosy of an evening. This is a perfect all round location for walks, biking, exploring the Tweed valley or hoping on the local bus and heading up to Edinburgh. Caroline was most helpful and responded promptly to my queries. Many thanks and we hope to return again soon.
Thanks for your lovely review . You had unusually cold weather that week but the frost did look beautiful as you said . It's back to a balmy 9 c in December once more . Look forward to you returning . Kind regards owner
Just returned from 1 week stay at Tweed Cottage and already missing Pebbles. Stayed with my wife and although the weather wasn't what we had hoped for, it certainly didn't spoil our stay. Cottage itself is cosy and fully equipped with lovely welcome basket on arrival and perfectly positioned to take advantage of the local eateries, bars, restaurants, banks and shops. Bus for Edinburgh is just at end of the lane to cottage and buses every 30 mins, so perfect for a wee day trip to the country's capital avoiding the nightmare of parking in the city. People in the bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc were so very friendly and helpful that we are already making plans for a return visit. Many thanks to Caroline for a memorable stay at your lovely cottage.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday yes being central it's a great base to keep yourself busy . Thank you .
