Description

Mulberry Cottage is at the centre of a row of three cottages which was originally one mid-16th century house, on the edge of the pretty village of Peasenhall. This charming cottage, which is deceptively spacious, has been newly refurbished to a very high standard and has been converted for wheelchair access, having a bedroom, dressing room and bathroom ensuite on the ground floor and easy, step-free access to the lovely, sunny southwest facing private garden at the rear. The cottage retains many original features, whilst having all modern conveniences and is tastefully furnished with a mixture of antique furniture and paintings and new pieces. All the beds have new, comfortable mattresses.

Peasenhall is the perfect location to explore the local area, being 20 mins drive from Southwold and Aldeburgh on the coast, but in the heart of the countryside. The village has a very popular deli - Emmett's - which sells home-smoked meats and cheeses, a village shop and post office,

“A lovely, spacious but cosy cottage”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2015

We stayed at Mulberry Cottage in February 2015. The owner, Hilary, sent us some very helpful directions and instructions on how to get into the cottage and arrived to a welcome hamper of a bottle of wine, fresh bread, milk and nibbles. Supplies for a log fire were also left for us. The cottage is very well decorated in a classic and comfortable style and has everything you could possibly need including WiFi and satellite TV. Although old, the cottage isn't cold or draughty and the heating and hot water systems were faultless. Peasenhall itself is a pretty village and has a nice butchers and deli. There is also a general store. There are lots of lovely places to visit and walk near the cottage. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to friends and family and would definitely stay again.
