Description from owner

Description

A design by Ben Law who often sources his material from the Cowdray Estate. This unique property has its walls as the name suggests with straw, so it is exceptionally well insulated and traditional in feel with its thick walls. A special place to stay just north of Steyning, it will sleep up to six guests in three bedrooms although one of the rooms with twin beds is a mezzanine level from the main room. It is a feature room built around a fascinating frame structure.

The two other bedrooms are on the ground floor. The principal bedroom has a king sized bed and is next door to the family bathroom with both a shower and a separate shower cubicle. The second bedroom has twin beds and an ensuite shower room. The house is wrapped with a terrace and has it own private garden area. It is part of a working farm where guests are able to see the farm by arrangement.

Location description from owner

The West Sussex region

Sussex is in the south east of England stretching along the English Channel from Rye in the east to Chichester Harbour and Emsworth in the west with many fine blue flag beaches in between.

The chalk downland of the South Downs National Park cover a large part of Sussex from where they meet the sea at Beachy Head in East Sussex through to the Hampshire border near South Harting in the west.

Chichester is the cathedral city of Sussex and Brighton and Hove on the Sussex coast is considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe. Arundel and Lewes are two historic towns within the county both have imposing castles and are popular towns to visit.

The climate enjoyed in Sussex is above the average for Great Britain, which makes it ideal for visiting throughout the year.

Partridge Green

Just three miles to the south, Steyning is a small market town that sits right beneath the South Downs and is full of pretty listed buildings. It is perfect for those who enjoy walking either along the South Downs Way or walking north on the Downslink path that eventually links with the North Downs. Steyning is close to Brighton and Hove, the cosmopolitan city on the south coast coast with its many attractions form the Royal Pavilion, diverse shops, the pier and theatres. Due south is Worthing a more traditional seaside town. On top of the Downs there are great walks to Chanctonbury Ring and Cissbury Ring.
