Description from owner
Rosedale is a secluded detached cottage nestled behind the dunes of Three Cliffs Bay close to the village of Parkmill. This charming cottage, built around an original 1920’s holiday chalet (lounge and bunk room) is located on the highly sort after Sandy lane, a community originally built as an area of holiday cottages for residents of Swansea at the start of the 20th Century. Now the area has an eclectic mix of timber frame chalets, some Scandinavian in style. The property sits on the edge of Pennard golf club and the only building between you and the beach at Three Cliffs bay is the beautiful ruins of Pennard castle.
After driving down the bumpy unmade road as you enter the property from the rear down the grass path you could be in the middle of nowhere. There is a patio with seating and a picnic style bench with parasol, BBQ, and fire pit available.
Enter the cottage through the kitchen one of our favourite rooms, with a cute pot belly stove in the fireplace and a dining table overlooking the patio. Through to the lounge, which seats five (other chairs available in the bedrooms to bring through) tips a nod to the heritage of the building but has TV, Blu-ray, wifi and Docking station and a good collection of DVD's should you need to put your feet up.
From the lounge:
The second double bedroom - with a slight psychedelic style, has a double bed, hanging space, chest of drawers, chair and bedside table.
The bunk room - a bit more subdued and beach hut styled, has a a bunk with a pull out double bottom bed (so you could sleep seven if you don't mind getting cozy). Wardrobe and two chests of drawers.
Through from the bunk room is the master bedroom with a double bed, large chest of drawers, hanging space and a bed side drawers and chair. All of the bedrooms have power outlets with USB ports so there is no arguing about who can charge their phone.
Also off the lounge is the door to the utility area with a washing machine and dishwasher. You will also find a travel cot, high chair and other useful things like the ironing board (joy). From the utility is the bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet and sink. The Utility opens up to an area of undeveloped land with a path to the pub!
The property is all on one story but there are steps between rooms due to slightly different levels as the property has been built in stages over time.
Outside there is the patio (which appears to have its own microclimate) ,a second small patio to the side and a gravelled area. There is a wild area of garden below, which you are welcome to explore, but this area has been left to nature (you may discover the fox holes) and children should be supervised.
Shop, doctors, library, health centre and pub all within 10 minutes walk. Bird hospital, horse riding and other activities very close by. Three cliffs bay and Pobbles beach walking distance and many other beautiful beaches a short drive. Swansea is only 8 miles away offering all of the attractions of a modern city and many beach side attractions.
This is a lovely quirky cottage with an interesting history (it got hot water for the first time 6 months ago) and idilic setting. Ideal for golfers, surfers, walkers, birdwatchers, amateur historians and people just wanting somewhere to chill.
If you are looking for a minimalistic modern place to stay this may not be for you, but if you want a bit of welsh charm in a wild, creative setting then maybe it is...

“Outstanding cosy cottage in a perfect location”
This cosy cottage was in a lovely location a couple minutes drive from the sea and a archery place. There were lots of games to play and DVDS perfect for when it was rainy or cold but luckily we had amazing weather. it was dog proof and close to a lovely walk across the road which lead to spectacular castle ruins that you and the kids can climb and play games like hide and seek! Amazing views on the walk not so many views from the house as it was nicely hidden from anyone. There was a lovely patio that you could have drinks whilst the kids played around with or without the dog (recommend to bring a football) then you could make dinner or go out as there is a variety of restaurants close to drive to! We recommend the King Arthur pub it does lovely traditional food. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking to relax, and enjoy a beachy holiday!

Absolutely loved this place, and so did the dogs. Well equipped, interestingly decocorated, an enclosed garden with sun traps to be found all day. Fabulous walks on the doorstep. If you want white, modern, minimalist luxury, go elsewhere. If you want comfortable, cosy and a bit bohemian, then this is the place to go. Can't wait to return!
“A great retreat with quirkiness and character in a fantastic location”
The cottage is in a fab location with great walks and amenities close by. The coffee shop is a gem serving great food and lovely homemade cakes. We took the path through the golf course ( easy to follow path and golfers were friendly) to the ruins of the castle and down to the beach then the steep path up to the coastal path. Cottage is quirky, with lovely touches and comfy beds. Everything we needed for a few days away...will hopefully be back for another visit.

We had a lovely, restful week away in an area that is much loved by our family and felt very at home at 'Rosedale' The cottage is well equipped and perfectly located for walks straight from the door to Pobbles and Three Cliffs bays. Rather mixed weather meant we couldn't make full advantage of the private patio area but enjoyed several walks along stretches of the coastal path.The stretch from Mewslade to Rhossili is particulary beautiful. Mumbles is very pleasant for shopping and a walk along the prom. The information and directions received before.hand were very helpful and we were only sorry we couldn't stay longer!

The holiday cottage is just as outlined in the description, based in a lane where other similarly quirky chalet-style buildings are situated. There are lots of lovely touches which makes it very homely and the owners have thought of everything so it is well-equipped. Five adults and a golden retriever stayed for 4 nights. The kitchen is quite compact which meant it wasn't easy if we all tried to be in there at the same time. It wasn't quite warm enough to spill out on to the patio area - which would actually be a lovely place to have breakfast and BBQs if the weather had been better. The owner isn't based locally but was able to sort out some initial hiccups that we came across when we arrived and we appreciated the fast and proactive response. All in all, a lovely, relaxing stay away from the hubbub of town life!
This beautiful eccentric cottage is a perfect retreat. Everything is in great condition, the cottage is warm, comfortable and well equipped. The owner is a great communicator and we got a great price for our stay. Absolutely first class all round.
