The location allows you to feel away from it all and yet have easy access to the wealth of activities, history, places of interest. The provision of internet and i-pod docking system means you can feel at home and stay in touch - if you really have to.

This comfortable house is a wonderful base for families and groups alike having an en-suite per bedroom. In the high summer the pool is just what's required for a chill out holiday, but in the cooler months the area is popular with walkers, cyclists and historians

“Superb- something for everyone”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2015

This is a very comfortable house in an unspoilt part of France which allows access to fantastic local markets (Limogne especially), great restaurants and an abundance of activities for a family with teenagers and younger. The house is private with a lovely sitting room, very comfortable bedrooms and is stocked with everything you could possibly need for self-catering. As mentioned by others, the pool is excellent and due to the weather we were rarely out of it! Although the owner was unavoidably absent when we visited, his neighbours effortlessly managed to walk the tightrope of providing a genuine welcome/practical advice whilst being unobtrusive. On top of this, the ‘house book’ provides the most comprehensive guide to the region and to generally getting the best out of a holiday in France. We especially appreciated the local walking suggestions and cross country jogging routes which were a highlight of our holiday. There are so many other aspects of the house that we loved (the garden tomatoes, the ice machine, the sky at night) so suffice to say we would absolutely recommend this house and also have nothing but praise for Jackie who manages it and was most helpful throughout the process.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at La Barabie. As you mentioned the neighbours were fantastic during that time and I'l be sure to pass on your thanks. We are all delighted you enjoyed your time and would love to welcome you back to the area another time.

“Great place to chill out and relax!”

Great place for R&R. Great host - very knowledgeable and helpful. Can't fault the food or wine! Plenty of it too! Lovely setting and pool area. Nice strolls down to the lake. I would definitely recommend La Barabie. Will definitely be back!

Delighted you enjoyed your stay, as you say the host is appreciated by everyone. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay.

“Delightful weekend in late Summer sun”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2014

We arived for a family wedding late on aThursday night to be met by the genial host with a slection of charcuterie, fresh bread and some great local wines. The weekend got better thereafter. The house itself is in great shape with x4 nicely proportioned en-suite rooms. All of the ensuites were in good conition and recently refubished. The living areas both inside and outside the house ae great for socialising and the pool area captures the sun from early morning until late at night. Great views over the local countryside and only a 15-20 minute walk back into Parisot or to the local lake complex (bar/restaurant/bike hire). The house is one of 4 in a small hamlet and is about an hours drive from either of the main airports in the area. The owner of the property was on call to help support any of our activities for the long weekend and delivered some outstanding meals based on locally sourced raw ingredients. All in all a great place for a couple of famillies or a group of friends to wile away a summer vacation. The accommodation would also be a great retreat for a festive break.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review; you certainly seem to have made the best of your stay in this lovely area. The house is a great base from which to explore either by car or by bike.

“Excellent facilities & wonderful pool!”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2014

We've previously found it difficult to get a house where all four bedrooms are well proportioned & all have en-suite, so nobody feels like they drew the short straw. La Barabie has it all in this respect. A well equipped kitchen, big garden with a generously sized pool, BBQ & superb views top the property off. A pleasant 20 minute walk down pretty country lanes takes you to the lake or village, so easy access to bars & restaurants. Plenty more choice of picturesque villages, restaurants & markets nearby if you do want to explore in the car. This property represents good value for money & I would be inclined to say the pictures don't do justice for it's beauty & charm.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review La Barabie, very glad you had such a great time. If you have any photos you feel reflect this lovely old house please feel free to send them to me, I'd love to include them for others to see.
