Description from owner
This grand apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a building dating from the 17th Century, with sweeping views over the Seine, Notre Dame & The Conciergerie. Not far from the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay.
Chez Claude is perfect for four people (either 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children).
With double glazed windows, you will find total modern luxury mixed with original features such as parquet floors. Immediately in front of you is Ile de la Cité - the island that is the birthplace of Paris. The Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Pres are your back yard.
The Ile-de-France region
Our apartment is located along the River Seine opposite Notre Dame, the Pont-Neuf and Ile de la Cite, not far from the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay.
Located on Quai des Grands Augustins, a UNESCO world heriatge site and over looking the Ile de la Cite the birth place of Paris.
Located on the "rive gauche", the "sixieme arrondissement" is a close neighbour of the Latin Quarter. The sixth tends to be a bit more elegant with its antique shops, cafes and designer boutiques. This is one of the most sought after zip codes in all of Paris, and you would be very happy to stay here. It includes the oldest church in Paris - St. Germain-des-Pres as well as popular cafes in Paris, Cafe de Flore and Les Deux Magots.
The Luxembourg Garden is also a draw of the beautiful 6th arrondissement.

“Perfect location to all the sights!”
You will love this apartment as it's in the perfect location to all the main Paris tourist highlights. It;s within walking distance to the Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, the Louvre, Musee d"Orsey, the Latin Quarter and La Marais. You feel right at home at Chez Claude as it provides all the amenities you are looking for. The owners provide all the extras you would expect in a luxury hotel. We felt like locals living at the centre of all the activity. Our favourite moments were sitting at the bistro table sipping on a glass of wine and watching the Bateau Mouches go by on the Seine,
“Wonderful Paris, Wonderful Chez Claude”
We had the perfect trip to Paris staying in this beautiful, well located apartment. We immediately felt at home, and thoroughly enjoyed the best table in Paris for our morning coffee and afternoon wine while sitting at the bar table with a view of the Seine. This apartment is well furnished and well managed. We appreciated the complete instruction booklet and the restaurant recommendations. We highly recommend Chez Claude.
“Live like a local.”
A well presented property in a busy & exciting section of Paris. It was close to most of the main attractions and afforded easy access to public transport and the hop on, hop off bus. The area provides a large range of dining options. Two of our favourites were in Rue Dauphine (a short walk from Chez Claude)......Khao Thai (No 13) served up beautiful Thai and Yugaraj (No 14) gave us a wonderful Indian experience. I would strongly recommend both establishments. Shopping for provisions for the apartment was easy with a number of supermarkets and boulangerie's in the neighbourhood. The meet and greet by the apartment manager was first rate and she was most helpful in explaining the facilities in the apartment and offered to assist if we needed any help during our stay. The booking process was excellent and Anna provided a great customer experience prior to and during our stay. Our only minor adverse comment woulkd be that the settee (a sofa bed) was not the most comfortable, particularly for a couple of seniors. As with most Paris apartments there is no elevator so be prepared to tote your bags up (and down) the curving stairs. I would stay at Chez Claude again and I would happily recommend it to our friends.
“left bank lifestyle”
We were referred to Chez Claude by friends that have stayed there on several occasions. The apartment is in a wonderful old building overlooking the Seine and the its constant river traffic. The area is full of places to see, restaurants to visit and short/long walks to most attractions of Paris. We celebrated my 65th birthday at the nearby recommended Christine's Restaurant and of course we suggest you consult with the lovely Martine on arrival for dining suggestions. The apartment was very well fitted out and met all our needs, including putting up our son from London with his girlfriend - for the weekend. We look forward to a return trip to France, to include a stay at the owners Provence property
“Great family trip to Paris!”
We had a wonderful trip to Paris and Chez Claude was a perfect home base. It was my husband, myself and our daughters, ages 6 and 3. The apartment was the perfect size for our group. We loved watching all the action along the Seine and close to great sites, food and metro for the things further away.
“Great apartment in a perfect location”
Chez Claude is a one bedroom, one bath apartment right on the Seine, between Pont Neuf and Pont Sainte Michel. So many sites are literally within walking distance. Even better, from the living room windows, you can see the river and Notre Dame. The furnishings were very nice and comfortable. There is one bedroom with a double bed, and then a pull out sofa with a double bed and a day bed. This provides many sleeping options for up to four people. Anna (the owner) is very organized, and we were able to arrange all of the formalities via email. After you sign the lease, she will send you all of the information that you may want about the apartment and Paris. I found her suggestions to be as good or better than any guidebook. She was also very accommodating of a last minute schedule change (United gave me an option for a direct flight at the last minute - getting us in about four hours earlier than planned). There were three of us traveling together, including my teenage daughter. We could have stayed in a hotel, but that would have left us with two choices - one room for three of us, or two rooms. It would have been cramped in one room, and two rooms in this location would have been expensive. It was so nice, to be able to have room to spread out, and relax without being on top of each other. Having the ability to stock a refrigerator with food and drinks really made it feel more comfortable, and saved money. It was really nice to be able to get out of bed and have coffee and croissants for a couple of Euros, rather than get dressed and go to a cafe and pay 10 Euros each, or ordering room service for much more. As mentioned, the location is ideal. The RER B line stops literally a few hundred meters away, and there is also a Metro stop at the corner. There is only one caveat - it is on the second floor, so there are two flights of stairs. Big suitcases take a bit of effort, but can certainly be managed. So, for a very cost effective, comfortable stay in an ideal location, Chez Claude is it.
