Description from owner

Description

In fashionable Batignolles, on the edge of Montmartre, this well appointed apartment has got everything you need for a relaxing break. Free high-speed WiFi, UK tv via satellite in HD (that's BBC, ITV, Chnnel 4 etc) and a fully equipped kitchen.

There is no same-day changeover so you can arrive and check-out at a time convenient to you! The bed will be made-up and fresh towels laid out.

This is a vibrant Paris arronndissement where there is always something to do and somewhere to go.

Turn left out of my building and a stroll through the cobbled streets of Montmartre will get you to the Sacre Coeur. You'll approach the basilica from the side, gradually climbing the hill, so don't worry about the steps!

But cross the street from my apartment and a short walk gets you into the heart of Batignolles, on the way you'll walk past a great selection of restaurants, brasseries and bars. These are places where the locals eat and drink.

Joggers will take five minutes

Location description from owner

The Ile-de-France region

"When good Americans die, they go to Paris", so said Oscar Wilde. Well, why wait till then!? Come now. This beautiful city is great at any time of the year. Take a stroll in one of the more than four hundred parks dotted across the city, or pop in to one of the 153 museums. Hungry? Well, this is Paris, there are thousands of eating options, from haute cuisine to hearty regional fare. It's perfectly possible to eat very well for not much. Time Out online has a great list of restaurant options. Paris is a compact city and you'll soon realise that nothing is too far away.

Paris

Place de Clichy metro is a three minute walk, or pick up a bike from the Velib stationThere are dozens if not hundreds of restaurants within strolling distance of my flat. It's ten minutes walk from the top of the 9eme arronndissement which is fast becoming the latest spot for young entrepreneurs to open new restaurants and bars. Or, if you want to cook at home you'll have no problem sourcing high quality fresh food again from shops within minutes of the flat. There's also an organic food market five minutes walk away every Saturday. You're a 30 minute walk (less than 10 minutes downhill on a bike!) from Place de l'opera and the Grand Boulevards and the famous department stores of Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. If you like movies, there's a multi-screen Pathé cinema and an arthouse cinema at Place de Clichy. All the English language films are usually shown in their original version with French subtitles. There's live entertainment nearby as well, the legendary Moulin Rouge is a 15 minute stroll.

“We loved the flat”

Reviewed 22 Jun 2016

The flat was as described. It is well located. There was an unexpected bonus: the flat's fixed phone allows free calls to fixed numbers of about 100 countries (each call being limited to a maximum 59 minutes). So my wife regularly called family members in Canada during our 4 weeks stay in Paris :-)

“light and airy apartment , well furnished and convenient location”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2013

This apartment is a great find for the price in Paris. Has everything needed for a a few days or longer visit. Well planned spacious layout , confortable bed, fluffy towels and full range of utensils and crockery. The wifi, tv and the internet radio were an added bonus. .Although on busy street, the apartment was very quiet. The location was good, close to the metro and also to local supermarkets and bakeries. The booking procedure was painless and Bernard was very prompt in replying to any queries I had.Stephanie was there to meet us when we arrived and told us how to use the facilities and where the local bakery and supermarket were.

“Home away from home”

We stayed in this apartment for 3 nights with our teenage son. Ideal location minutes away from the Metro which brought us everywhere we wanted to go. The apartment was very well equipped, we had everything we wanted and more. Very comfortable bed and great shower. The pull out sofa bed was ideal for our son and we all had our own space. The English channels were a great bonus when we came back from our day of sightseeing. Would recommend this apartment for couples with teenage children much better than a hotel.

“A value-for-money apartment in expensive Paris”

We stayed here for one week in early May and very glad that we had chose it over a hotel room. The apartment is neat, modern and has everything you need. It's located on a main street but is very quite inside. The location is great, it's only few minutes walking distance to the tube stations for line 2 & 13. Then it's few stops to major tourist sites. It's 10min walking distance to Montmartre which is a lovely area. There are also many shops, bakeries, cafes around the apartment. The only thing to note is that the apartment is on the 3rd floor of an old building, there is no lift.

“Great apartment: Home away from home!!!”

We stayed for a week and had a great time! The location is great and easy to get anywhere by foot. We cooked at home and stayed in a lot and must say that ALL is provided from nice sheets and clean towels to a fully a equiped kitchen. It is a real cosy high tech flat providing all needed for a lovely, quite yet central stay. Bernard, the owner is available to care for all your needs and wants. Highly reccomended!!!

“Stylish. Comfortable. Homely. Central. Perfect.”

I visited Paris with my girlfriend for a long weekend break to celebrate my birthday. The apartment was easy to get to from Gare Du Nord and only a short walk from the metro (less than 5 minutes) Stephanie was there to meet us as arranged and was very helpful, happy to answer any questions we had about Paris. She was able to advise us of good local places to eat and the best way to get around the city. The apartment had all the facilities you could need including free wifi, English tv, guide books and an excellent fitted kitchen. It was great to be able to enjoy the time spent in the apartment by cooking, watching tele and listening to music. To sum up, this was a great base for us to get back to after a long day visiting all the sites. It certainly enabled us to relax and enjoy our break and my birthday. The apartment was clean, had a nice hot shower, clean towels, and a very comfy bed. I would 100% recommend this place to anybody. Can't wait to go back Thanks.

“Very cute apartment in great location...near everything”

We stayed for four nights between Christmas and New Years and had a great time. The flat is nice and quiet but close to everything. Stephanie and Bernard were both very hospitable. We would stay there again for sure.

“Beautiful apartment in perfect location”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2012

This flat was perfect. Really light and airy and very spacious and comfortable. Stephanie was waiting for us with the keys and showed us how everything worked. The bed was made and there were lovely fluffy towels. I really like cooking so I was pleased that there was pretty much everything I needed in the kitchen. Stephanie was also great with tips for the best local boulangerie and the restaurants worth trying - there are so many! We even managed to catch a couple of movies and haven't done that for years - two cinemas are three minutes walk away. We were lucky with the weather and there's a park next door to the flat so enjoy the sun and there is an even better park in Batignolles. It took us about half an hour to walk up to the Sacre Coeur - a really lovely stroll through Montmartre. We're definitely coming back again next year! Thanks, Louis and Caroline.
