“A great place to stay”
We stayed at the La Maisonnette for 8 days in September. The location is very central and near many underground stations. Chris is an excellent source of information. He greeted us upon our arrival and showed us the area surrounding our apartment. He was very kind and efficient and I would highly recommend his places.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. I am happy to have helped you having a great time in Paris :-) All the best. Chris
“Modern, secure, studio-like apt, great bed, wonderful landlord, charming neighborhood, access to the whole city.”
I have stayed at two of Christophe's properties (La Boulangerie and Laundry Loft). They are both small, very clean, modern, functional, well-equipped, excellent water pressure for the showers. The beds can't be beat. The properties are located bit away from the madding crowd in a friendly, culturally interesting neighborhood with easy access to public transportation (metro, bus lines, bike rental) to quickly reach all the great places of Paris. Christophe speaks English and is a terrific landlord who took me on a walking tour of the neighborhood and was helpful in every way. The climb to the bed loft in La Boulangerie would be difficult for a person of limited mobility, while at the Laundry Loft all is on a single floor. I loved that both these apts. were on street level and with excellent security. WIFI and TV worked well (BBC is comforting after a daylong city exploration while practicing my French). I felt cozily at home in both apartments. Thank you, Christophe, for helping make my holidays happy.
“Live like a Parisian”
This owner cares about his guests. Christophe gave us a tour of the neighborhood to show us where the locals eat and shop. This apartment is best for a couple. We thought the sofa was a bed but Christophe came to the rescue and provided a mattress so all was great. He will even print off boarding passes etc and deliver them to you. The bedroom is a loft type. It has a lower ceiling so if you are tall I wouldn't recommend it. The apartment had everything we needed.
“Great host, great location and the most comfortable bed we have slept on in a long time!”
Thanks Christophe for a wonderful stay in your beautiful Parisian apartment! It was fully equipped with everything you would ever need for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable and gave us a very good nights sleep to set us up for a great day. The location was perfect as it was a few mins walk to the metro. Thank you again and I would highly recommend.
Owner's reply: thank you !!! all the best to you and your family :-)
“Boulangerie House- a great place to stay”
My husband and I stayed a week at the Boulangerie House. The owner, Christophe, met us, showed us around the neighborhood and was always available to help us. The only drawback to the property was the 5 foot ceiling in the sleeping loft. This was especially problematic if you are tall or have to go downstairs to the bathroom during the night. The location was very good, with easy access to two metro lines. The apartment was immaculate and comfortable.
“Atelier 34 - Perfect”
My daughter and I just returned from a week long stay in Paris, at Atelier 34. It was the perfect blend of holiday and apartment living for us. It is very close to the Metro, so getting around was very easy. The neighborhood is busy, but not overly so. I loved the courtyard, and enjoyed visiting area markets and groceries. The apartment was larger than I expected, so we never felt crowded or on top of one another (difficult with a typical messy 14 year old). And on the subject of typical teens, the WiFi was key. Christophe is a fabulous host - he showed us around our first day and even helped me arrange for a taxi to take us to the airport at 4:30am. I wouldn't ever consider a Paris hotel again knowing I can trust any one of Christophe's properties to be clean and lovely - and I have already recommended Atelier 34 to a friend.
Owner's reply: Merci for your cute review and recomendations ! I wish you all the best to you and your cute family. Warm regards. Chris
“The Best Place to stay in Paris is here”
This is probably the best place to stay if you want everything near to you, quiet and out of the noisy street life (really !), safe and secure, with a lovely owner who will take his trouble to look after you. 1. The Lafayette Department stores are just 5 minutes down the road. That is also where you pick up the tourist open top buses. 2. 3 Metro stations within 1 minute walking distance. 3. The main intercity train station is 1 minute away. If you came by train, its so easy. 4. Halal kebab house less than 2 minutes. Nice trendy cafes, small convenience stores just down the road. You really are in the middle of town but won't feel it when you enter the apartment. Chris the owner speaks practically all the main Languages and is great. You have wifi, TV, washing machine, kitchen, shower, towels, double bed. What more can you ask for. I will definitely make it a point to come back.
Owner's reply: Dear Razman, thank you for your sweet review. It has been a pleasure meeting you and hosting you. I wish you all the best and to your family too. Warm regards. Chris
“Perfect romantic Paris retreat”
The owner of this apartment met us at the apartment, took the time to show us around the neighborhood, shared his knowledge of the area and was a sheer delight. The apartment was described perfectly. It was clean, comfortable and perfect for a week getaway in beautiful Paris! We loved the apartment so much we plan to book again next year!
“Live like a Parisian in Paris.”
We lived in Paris like Parisians! That is how we felt about our stay in the Lafayette apartment. Our apartment was and quiet; it is in the interior of the building, overlooking a courtyard. It is located on a street where you will see few tourists and yet it is within easy walking distance of many attractions, and access to every type of public transportation is nearby. Despite proximity to the Gare St. Lazare, we never heard any trains, and if you are are short of time, you can buy almost anything in the train station - but we recommend the local shops as a better choice if you are not rushed; Christophe, the owner, will give you a heads up on where to begin your exploration of the local shops. Many buses begin and terminate their routes near the the Gare St. Lazare and there are 3 metro stops nearby: Europe (the closest), Liege, and St. Lazare (takes some work to learn to navigate this station). In our favorite local cafe we never saw another tourist but we were always made to feel welcome. The apartment we stayed in was rather minimally furnished. We were there in the spring, but there seem to be plenty of heaters for the winter. The bed was quite firm, but comfortable. We needed to use two cushions to make the futon in the living room work for us and the arm chair is very soft. The wifi and TV/radio were fine. Two warnings: the water gets extremely hot, so use caution if you have young children. Also, the tub in our apartment had quite a high rim so would be a problem for anyone with hip or mobility problems. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment and would highly recommend it. It is certainly where we will want to stay when we return to Paris and we will check its availability before we set the dates for our stay - to make sure that we will be able to stay in this apartment again.
“Fabulous experience in the Lafayette Apartment!”
My husband and rented the Lafayette Apartment from Christophe for two weeks in Oct/Nov 2012. Christophe has several rental properties that are all well reported on according to Tripadviser and vrbo.com. He is very professional, friendly, and accommodating. My husband and I couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay! The apartment is quite a bit bigger than you would think, with a separate bedroom, a four piece bath, laundry, a full kitchen, and a large living area. The apartment is on the inside of a Haussmann era building with big windows that open to a sun drenched courtyard. Very romantic! Because it’s located on the inside of the building it was so quiet and peaceful that we almost forgot we were staying in the heart of Paris. The location was a dream; looking back we can’t believe that we could afford to stay in such a chic area! The neighbourhood is incredible! There’s so much to do. This is the area that Manet and many other artists chose to paint. Galeries Lafayette and Printemps are just a couple blocks away in one direction and in the other lies Rue de Levis famed food market. Needless to say you will eat very well. Our favorite local restaurant was Dome which is located at the opening corner of the market. So many metro lines are available to you that we could be anywhere in Paris within a few minutes. I would recommend booking a shared shuttle to and from CDG airport. It’s cheap and very easy! In summation, I’ve already recommended this property to my relatives and friends. I can’t wait to return and when I do I will definitely be renting from Christophe again.
