Description

Uniquely situated on both the courtyard level and 3rd floor in a beautiful 19th century building, the apartment is a calm oasis whether for a short or longer stay. You enter the apartment on the ground floor but all rooms except for the kitchen are at the same level as a 3rd floor apartment (but you won't feel the difference at all).

Fully equipped with full kitchen, washer and dryer units, dining area for up to 4, queen-size bed and double sofa bed as well as plenty of storage space. 

The decor is both classical and modern with old Montmartre touches and paintings that were done by the owner herself.

sleeps 2-4 people.

Locally you will find everything that you need and more with the local butcher just a few steps away and wonderful fresh produce and specialty shops galore.

Getting around the city is made easy with access either by metro from Lamarck-Caulaincourt (line 12) which takes you to the Tuileries gardens and into St Germain or by using the 80 bus

Connect to the 95 bus (either by walking to the stop or transferring one or two stops from the 80 bus), to get you right in front of the Louvre.

Enjoy a coffee and a croissant at Le Cepage bar down at the corner where you can also by metro tickets to use both on the bus and metro.

The area is full of lovely restaurants and is walking distance from the more active Abbesses area and Sacre Coeur.

The Ile-de-France region

The Romans called it Mons Mercurii, after erecting a hilltop shrine to their god of commerce. Medieval folks referred to it as Montmartre, or “Hill of Martyrs”, after legend stated that their patron saint tucked his decapitated head under his arm and walked from this hill to a more comfortable resting place north of Paris.

In more modern times the village of Montmartre at Paris’ highest point, is best known for many painters who frequented its sidewalk cafés. Living and breathing their art and often trading it for a hot meal. Montmartre attracted such great artists as Picasso, Modgliani, Renoir, Manet, Toulouse Lautrec and Van Gogh. Walking around here it is easy to see the indelible mark from Montmartre’s colourful past. The narrow cobble stoned streets are still home to painters capitalizing on the artists whose space they have taken on the Place du Tertre.

So take the time to explore the village of Montmartre and see why its sloping streets are still the obsession of painters, photographers and tourists alike.

Located one minute from one of Paris's most frequent north-south bus lines (bus 95)-- carrying passengers to the Champs Elysees and Left Bank; three minutes to another bus line to the Louvre, Montparnasse, and antique markets at the Porte Clignancourt; and four minutes from the Metro, the apartment is an ideal springboard for sightseeing anywhere in Paris and beyond.

Wine merchants, green grocers, two good bakers, an award-winning patissier, two celebrated cheese shops, and even a health food shop are all within minutes on foot.
