Location description from owner

The Balearic Islands region

Palma is one of the most exciting cities in Europe and home to almost half of the population of Mallorca. Recent investment to restore areas of the Old Town have paid dividends as walking around the cobbled streets is one of the many pleasures the city has to offer. As the most intriguing part of the city its narrow lanes and alleys are intercepted by attractive little plazas and flanked with a handsome medley of Gothic churches and Renaissance mansions, all of which can be seen in the comfort of a beautiful horse drawn carriage.

Palma de Mallorca

Our guests universally compliment us on the ideal location of the apartment. The quiet cobbled street has no through traffic and restricted parking. In one direction the Es Baluard museum and high battlements are just 50 meters away. With the vibrant Santa Catalina area just 5 minutes further walk. In the other direction, towards the cathedral there are a maze of back streets containing Tapas bars, wine bars, eclectic shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets.

We are also near to the waterfront and marina with a variety of restaurants as well as easy access to the coastal walking and cycling paths that go for miles in each direction.

The nearest beach is a pleasant 15 minute walk away

“fine, but sleeping a problem in summer months with no A/C”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2016

Having stayed here at least four times over the course of several months we feel able to comment on the service and apartment. The apartment itself is pleasant, if a little dark because of poor direct light. This is particularly the case in the bedroom. It is quiet and well located. During cooler months, sleeping is fine but in July/August, without A/C, and just two fans, sleeping is, at best, uncomfortable. Other reviewers have commented on poor communication when arriving and someone even questioned whether the elusive Lily (house keeper) actually existed! In fact she does. We met her fleetingly on one of the four visits. The other times we met her helpful assistant. Communication is less than ideal because it seems lily will send your message to her assistant and then, if you are lucky you will receive a reply. The issue of unpleasant smelling towels/bedding has been mentioned by another reviewer. On all four of our visits the clothes dryer was running. It went on and on and an inspection showed on all visits that the water chamber was overfull and needed emptying. When this was done, the cycle could finish. Bedding and towels were left in the machines and this would explain the lack of a fresh smell in some cases. It is the small things that prevent us form giving the place an unreserved recommendation . On two of the visits there was no TV signal (On one occasion it was fixed) The numbers given on the info, to access the channels were incorrect, and I noticed were the unchanged since my first visit there. Three of the five coffee mugs were chipped. There were only two tall water glasses There were only two wine glasses on our last visit (the owners did replace them after a call) One has the impression that someone should, from time to time, take stock and replace things. (How much can an Ikea coffee mug cost!) Most people will make just one visit to Palma and will put any experience down to good or bad luck. When one visits more often, a trend is seen. Despite the above, we had an enjoyable stay. Naturally we would not have stayed more than once if the experience had been awful! However, we cancelled a forthcoming visit, deciding that enough was enough. We decided to stay elsewhere. The owners refunded our costs.

“Fantastic!”

We loved the apartment. The location was perfect - close to tourist attractions, great restaurants, department store, food market, etc. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms were spotlessly clean. There was a separate toilet off the lounge in addition to the ensuite bathroom. We would love to go back to San Pere in the future.

“Great location for the old town and city centre. Wonderful well maintained apartment”

Have used this apartment on several occasions due to its locality and pleasing decor. Is situated in the old town very close to the sea front, restaurants, cafe bars and Cathedral.

“Classy apartment, beautiful terrace, perfect location for mix of city & beach”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2013

I stayed in the apartment for a long weekend with a school friend in August 2012. The taxi ride from the airport took literally about 10 mins which was a great start. The apartment itself is beautiful and very spacious - my friend and I shared the double in the bedroom but there was a double sofa bed in the lounge we could have used. The enormous bathroom was like being in a 5 star hotel, with 2 sinks and a huge powerful shower. The kitchen was well equipped and perfect for our needs. My favourite part of the apartment was the large roof terrace, accessed from the lounge, with outisde furniture - we spent many hours our there with a bottle of Cave, before going out for the evening. Each of the 3 nights we went out in a different area of Palma, all within easy walking distance of the apartment. One day we hired bikes from a shop about 5 mins walk away from the apartment, and cycled along the coastal cycle paths to various beaches/cafes. One day we got a taxi to a nearby beach. One afternoon the weather was cloudy, so we took advantage of the large DVD selection in the apartment and sat inside watching a film!

“Fantastic location, immaculate and stylish interior.”

Had a lovely long weekend in this very well located apartment. You are just a short walk from the beach, there are bars and restaurants dotted all around this area, and you are also just a short walk away from El Corte Ingles for all of your grocery requirements. The apartment is very well equipped and furnished throughout, it seems the owners have thought of everything.

“Good but some problems”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2013

Overall this property was lovely and as advertised. It is very close to the cathedral and old centre of Palma and very close to the restaurant areas. The supermarket at the bottom of the road is invaluable and has all basics and the kitchen here is fab. We did however have a couple of issues, firstly there is no air con in the bedroom, which we new already, but the one fan and window in there really doesn't keep it cool enough to sleep and we had a lot of sleepless nights due to the heat in here. Also the bedding smelt of ammonia, luckily we found some alternative bedding in the wardrobe and changed the beds, not sure if this was due to washing powder but it stank the room out for a couple of nights before it cleared. Otherwise this is a lovely place and ideal location to explore Palma
