Paleokastritsa is chiefly memorable for the exceptional scenery along with the superb beaches. The cool crystal waters are ideal for swimming and water sports. On most of the beaches there are taxi boats, sun beds, umbrellas, motor boats, and canoes for rent. It is well worth to visit all the beaches (About 15, most reached only by boat) in the around area by boat and see also the famous Paleokastritsa caves. For the really active, the rocks, the caves and the crystal water provide great points for diving. Paleokastritsa enjoys a spectacular setting on six (6) small-enclosed bays with crystal turquoise water.

Location description from owner

The Ionian Islands region

Is found in north-westerly of the city of Corfu roughly in 25 km distance, the region of Paleokastritsa represents one from the most impressive and beautiful natural beauties of the entire island. It is a settlement built in six small bights with sandy beaches that give the occasion in the visitor to choose where he wishes to relax. The waters with their colours that change progressively nuance from the turquoise in green emerald make Paleokastritsa one of the most beautiful places in order to make snorkelling in the island of Corfu. You cannot left of the island without diving in the most nearest islet Skialoudi, precisely in front of Paleokastritsa, one of the parts with the more rich marine flora and fauna of the entire island. It is also possible to visit the caves of Nausika and those of Agios Nikolaos or you can go with the boat to one of the many coastlines that are not accessible from the land, in order to pass one day without other tourists around you.

In one of the cells in the monastery, a museum has been founded where holy and precious relics of the monastery are housed. Magnificent views are obtained from both the monastery and the hills above, particularly from the village of Lakones.
