The English Riviera region
Devon is Great Britain’s third biggest county and has a wide range of landscapes. From the moors to the seaside sand dunes, from the buzzing cities to the sleepy coastal towns and villages, Devon can provide an all-round holiday experience.
The cities of Exeter and Plymouth both provide a delightful combination of rich heritage and modern excitement. All the coastal towns have lively harbours and local produce so you can have the real Devon experience.
Devon is also home to two national parks. Dartmoor in the south and Exmoor in the north both provide wonderful walks for the lovers of wildlife and the countryside.
So with two coastlines, two national parks, and two cities, there are how many reasons not to visit Devon? That’s right, none!
Paignton is the perfect location for a family holiday on the English Riviera. It's friendly atmosphere and superb beaches make it the ideal location to relax while the kids are kept amused.
At the beaches you can hire boats and canoes as well as trying your hand at snorkeling, water skiing, surfing, scuba diving and many more activities.
Along the waterfront you are also spoiled for choice by the numerous cafe's, restaurants and there is an abundance of pubs and bars providing an excellent nightlife.
A big visitor attraction in Paignton is Paignton Zoo. Opened in 1923 it is now an education & scientific charity devoted to preserving wildlife from around the globe.

We highly recommend the sandpiper to anyone thinking of booking , Fabulous stay again and as always it was great value , The property is ideally located with close links to Torquay and Brixham plus just down the hill is everything you could want in Paignton , There is a nice back garden which is private and secure with decking out from the patio doors , Me and my Mrs absolutely adore the area and would buy the sandpiper if it ever came up for sale , All in its a lovely place with nice quiet neighbours and a home from home feel , We will be staying again

on night of arrival bathroom door handle came off in our hand day 2 the front of a drawer broke off falling on my sons foot day 3 drawer front fell off when i tried to open it need i go on the cottage was not as described in relation to where we wanted to be in torbay was actually in torquay could also have been cleaner my son has asthma and needed to use his inhaler for the first time in ages as his bedroom was very dusty
We are genuinely sorry if Sandpiper didn't satisfy your needs however we do feel these comments to be somewhat unfair. The location of the bungalow is as mentioned very firmly in Paignton! There is also a map pinpointing its exact position for visitors to check when making a booking? We could easily have offered other accommodation in Torquay if requested. Perhaps this misjudgement clouded the views on this home as the breakages could easily have been repaired by our maintenance team if they had been mentioned when in situ. We are also absolutely certain that the use of an inhaler is not due to dust, possibly fibres from the new carpets laid throughout immediately before arrival or the redecorations carried out at the same time? A shame the location wasn't checked with greater care!
