Very handy for Goodwood!

Peace and quiet upgrade at no extra cost! Come and enjoy the 'get away from it all' feeling you get staying at Lavenders.

'The best place we have ever stayed in!' a quote from a recent guest at Lavenders, why not come and see why....Lavender's is a spacious coach house over the garage in the grounds of the owners house. (Originally built as staff accommodation) It is, in effect, a cottage, very pretty, beautifully furnished and ever so comfortable. This lovely holiday accommodation consists of a stylishly furnished lounge with views over the wonderful gardens, a fully equipped kitchen, inner hall with bathroom and the large bedroom leading from it. Lavenders is over one of the garages which is only used for storage so you won't be disturbed.

It is entirely separate from the main house and is quite private. Surrounded by lovely grounds including a beautiful and enclosed walled garden which is for guest's own exclusive use. Please note the private garden is to the side of Lavenders.

Great views of the garden and fields beyond from all the windows. Watch the horses play in the adjoining field, go bird watching, enjoy a country walk or just laze on the beach - the choice is yours. Previous guests have commented on how quiet and peaceful Lavenders is with no traffic noise, just the birdsong to greet you in the morning. Even though Lavenders is hidden away in the countryside it is within very easy walking distance to some great foodie pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops including a Tesco Extra and a pretty tea room. A walk to the nearby famous Pagham Harbour managed by the RSPB is a must! We get lots of migrating birds, especially in winter. Lavenders is stylish and comfortable with a spacious living room with flat screen TV, FreeSat and free high speed WiFi. There are comfortable sofas and a feature electric stove. The fully equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar,microwave, cooker & fridge. The bathroom has a spacious shower and a lovely view of the walled garden. The large double bedroom has a king size bed (memory foam mattress) a day bed for children and plenty of storage. We can also provide a travel cot free of charge, if required. The apartment has characterful sloping ceilings but don't worry, there is plenty of headroom for taller guests and if you love horses, come and meet ours. They are all very friendly and happy for you to come and say hello! And if you don't, they are enclosed and you can watch them at a distance. We also have two resident dogs (friendly and kept in a separate area of the garden so you never need to see them if you don't want to) we also have a few chickens too.

The garden is large and in the summer, very well stocked, it has a relaxed style and any keen gardeners are welcome to come and potter!

Motor Sport enthusiasts: Did you know Lavenders was previously owned by Le Mans Champion, Derek Bell and it is where he and his step father Bernard Hender started the Church Farm Racing Team. Derek Bell and Sir Stirling Moss have even raced lawn mowers on our front field!

Check in is 4pm and check out is 10am. If you would like an earlier/later check in/out please do get in touch and we will do what we can to oblige. However, if another guest is leaving/arriving the same day this may not be possible. If an early/late check in/out is vital we recommend you book the extra dates.

There is a 30% deposit due on booking and the balance is paid 8 weeks before your stay.

We also ask for a £200 cleaning/security deposit. This security deposit is not paid for up front and is not added to the cost of your stay. Details of how this works this will be sent to you on booking

The apartment is on the 1st floor over a detached garage within the owners grounds. It has its own separate entrance and a hallway with plenty of room for the walking boots! All the rooms are on the 1st floor and lead off the bright landing. The apartment has quality furnishings throughout.There is full central heating for the colder months (included in the rental) so its lovely and cosy too! For the children, we have a lovely day bed in the main bedroom and we can also provide a cot for smaller children. If there is something specific you need, just ask! We will do our best to provide! The coach house, more like a cottage! is a home from home with everything you would expect and more!

Lavenders has a lovely hot tub for guests own use in the pretty walled garden! Perfect!

The apartment over the garage is adjacent to the main house and is entirely separate and private. The private garden is to the side of Lavenders, entry is just off the drive.

Please note there is a small water feature/pond in the garden. We also have a fantastic hot tub for your exclusive use!

There is a table and chairs and lots of outdoor seating

There are free range chickens, horses and well behaved dogs on site.

No smoking in the property but guests are welcome to smoke in the garden.

Getting around

It is best if you bring your car - plenty of parking! That way you can see all the delights that Sussex has to offer. That said, the bus stop is a only a 10 minute walk away and you can travel to Bognor Regis, Chichester or Midhurst by bus. Chichester and Bognor train stations both have trains to London Victoria. So, to be honest, you can get almost anywhere by train or bus!

Interaction with guest

We live in the main house and are on hand to provide assistance. However, this is your holiday and we maintain a respectful distance. That said, if it's a warm sunny evening and you fancy a natter over a glass of something chilled we are not adverse to joining in! Lavenders is private and you are left to enjoy your holiday without interference.
