Location description from owner

The England region

Cornwall is one of the UK's most visited counties and has a long established reputation as a tourist destination. Covering the most south westerly portion of the West Country peninsular, Cornwall is home to many diverse landscapes ranging from 400 miles of rugged coastline, sandy beaches and picturesque creeks to rolling valleys and upland moorland.

Known for its Celtic heritage, Cornwall has distinctive architecture, cuisine and culture. Padstow is located roughly half way down the Cornish coast and so also makes an excellent base for exploring both up and down the peninsular, including Lands End, St Ives, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Bodmin Moor.

Padstow

The Padstow peninsular combines the most important asThe Padstow peninsular combines the most important aspects of a break in Cornwall.

The town of Padstow, a 20 minute walk from Gwedhen, has a picturesque harbour surrounded by narrow streets of boutique shops, ancient inns and high quality restaurants. Padstow is arguably Cornwall's gastronomic capital, and is home to many high class restaurants and establishments, including Rick Stein's restaurants and seafood cookery school at the Number 6 Michelin starred restaurant owned by Paul Ainsworth. For diners on a lower budget, Rick Stein's Fish and Chips and Fishmongers offer a wide variety of fresh and locally sourced seafood.

The beaches on the Padstow peninsular are known for their golden sand and clean waters. The closest to Gwedhen, Trevone Bay is approximately a mile away and is suitable for swimming and surfing. Lifeguard cover is provided in the summer months.

Gwedhen is also within close reach of the South West Coastal Path, which can be used to explore the rugged cliffs and scenery as well as visiting the many different beaches on the Padstow peninsular.

Padstow is located roughly half way down the Cornish coast and so also makes an excellent base for exploring both up and down the peninsular, including Lands End, St Ives, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Bodmin Moor.
