The Herrings is a luxury large recently refurbished beauitiful Dormer Bungalow, complete with large decked outside area with stunning views over the River Camel estuary, the property has a superb large Kitchen Diner three wonderful onsuite bedrooms encompassing two King size beds and one twin bedded room, a stunning glass/oak treaded staircase takes you upstairs to a large lounge overlooking the whole of the estuary with unequalled views over to Polzeath/Daymer and beyond, and is without doubt amongst the very best letting properties within the picturesque fishing port of Padstow. The house is also equipped with free WI-FI.

The bedrooms all have new TV's and the lounge also has a large TV and DVD system, all furniture and fittings in the house are new and of a high quality. You can enter THE HERRINGS anytime after 2.30pm on your day of arrival and must vacate the property by 9.45am on your morning of your departure.

The property is situated in the heart of the upmarket area of Padstow which is famous for its historic port and famous manor house of Prideaux Place which has featured on many TV programmes, the town itself has many quality places in which to eat and drink, along with many shops and art studio's.

The water taxi and ferry to Rock run daily and fishing trips and cruises around the coast depart from the quay on a regular basis. Bycycles are available locally to rent next to the Camel Trail and National Lobster Hatchery.

The property has lots of easy off road parking on a large paved area outside the front door and is a short walk from the harbour and town centre, we do not cater for children under the age of Five but well behaved pets are welcomed, owners are expected to keep pets under control and clean up after accidents and calls of nature throughout the whole of the property.

We require a non returnable deposit at time of booking of £300 and a damage deposit of £200 that will be returned within five days when guests leave the property undamaged and in a clean condition. All linen / towels and bedding is supplied free of charge within the rental cost. We have found that Thursday is the best change over day to travel in and out of Cornwall thus avoiding the very heavy weekend traffic on the M5. You can secure a booking by telephoning the owners and paying a £300 non re-turnable deposit with the final payment and damage waiver of £200 being due two monthe before your arrival date. The damage waiver of £200 will be reurned to you as soon as the house keeper reports that the house has been returned to us in a clean and undamaged condition at the end of your holiday and within five working days.

A stunning vista of beautiful sandy bays and cliff top walks, very close to the south coast across the county nowhere is very far from THE HERRINGS in Padstow.


There are many things to do whilst staying at THE HERRINGS including Golf, Surfing, Sailing, Fishing, Bird Watching, Boat Trips, Swimming and relaxing days on the Beach all within walking distance.

It is a great place to visit.

"Nice cottage with akward car park"

Stayed in cottage for a week in October with my wife and small dog. The house had everything we required and although when we arrived it was cold it soon warmed up when we read the heating instructions. On the second night we were kept up until 5.30 in the morning by a music concert 2 fields away from the house, it was obviously well organised with marques so a bit of warning from the organisers would have been welcomed. The cottage had a narrow drive which caused a week of hassle with a range rover as you could not turn round but had to back out, through a very narrow gate. sorry to list negatives, but wanted to give an honest answer. Would we go back? yes the cottage was lovely, the area fantastic and in October very good value for money. We loved visiting the coves, villages and Rick Stiens many establishments.

I think someone has crossed wires here as we do not have awkward parking, in fact it could not be easier with room for up to five cars next to the road at the front of THE HERRINGS our site photo's will clearly show this to be true. Also we have not had a booking in October with just two people and a Dog, I suspect this is a property further down Dennis Rd without parking at the front of their property. Please rectify this mistake.Thank you. M J Tregoning.

"Fantastic house no expense spared"

This is a lovely place and the owners have thought of everything. We loved the upstairs lounge with views over the camel estuary and of Rock. The location is great, easy to walk into Padstow with lovely restaurants to choose from. The bus stops just a few yards away - great for us walking the South West Coast Path.

"Lovely house in great location"

We had a 4 night stay here which was very enjoyable. The house has been updated to a very high standard and everything was spotlessly clean. Each bedroom having it's own en-suite bathroom was a great advantage. The best room is definitely the lounge which has an amazing view over Padstow estuary which you feel that you could look at all day. It is a short walk to the harbour so no need to take the car and there are a lot of good cafes and pubs. If you want to explore it is in a good position to reach the rest of Cornwall. We are looking forward to visiting again.

We stayed in the Herrings for the New Year period. The photos in the advertisement of the property do not do it justice. We were blown away !. It is in a superb location. There is a Tesco's at the top of a hill which takes roughly 10 minutes to walk. The town/harbour with pubs and restaurants is approximately 5 minutes walk away. We caught the ferry across to Rock where we had a lovely walk across the sand dunes and beach. The condition of the property was excellent with the specification of the renovation being outstanding. There was really nothing that we could find to fault this property. Will definately book again.
