Description

Suitable for families, couples, groups of adults alike. We can offer cots, high chairs, bottle warmers, general kids and baby items, garden area, BBQ, as well as the opportunity to help a little on a working free range poultry farm producing rainbow eggs. We also have pigs, peacocks, other poultry, air rifle shooting, camping, tractor driving, you name it! If you have hens, bring them with you - we have a full hennels service too so we can look after your hens whilst you stay! The only thing we cannot accommodate is dogs and cats under any circumstances.

Stones Cottage retains many original features including an open fire and high ceilings. Long range views across the valley and moorlands from every window. The farm itself covers 4.5 acres with two large open fields and many traditionally built wood and stone outbuildings.

Local attractions include the historic town of Haworth itself, a working steam railway, Bronte Parsonage museum, a large falconry & bird of prey centre, local outdoor adventure centre and direct access to many countryside walks with some paths passing directly through the farm. Major attractions such as Saltaire World Heritage site, Bolton Abbey, Skipton Castle and Piece Hall are all within easy reach.

“Love it!”

Reviewed 22 Nov 2016

Fabulous cottage, excellent hosts! We booked the cottage for the weekend while we were attending Haworth Steampunk weekend. It was perfect for what we needed. We could park at Oxenhope and get the steam train into Haworth, then after a busy day we had a lovely cozy cottage to come back to. It was the coldest weekend of the year but the cottage was really warm. Kitchen well stocked with equipment and free eggs! Definitely booking again for next year

“Lovely cottage!”

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Stones Cottage! We especially enjoyed the fresh eggs and an opportunity for air rifle shooting. The cottage is comfortable and boasts scenic views of the Yorkshire dales. One improvement that could be made is to have shampoo, conditioner, and bath soap available for the guests as all of the other amenities were well considered. I would definitely stay here again as it is a lovely place run by lovely people!

“Fantastic holiday”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2015

The cottage was lovely - clean, cosy & had everything we needed. Andrew & Emma were very helpful & made our holiday even better - fresh eggs from the farm & Andrew taught my son to use an air rifle & to shoot a bow & arrow! Thanks for a lovely holiday, would recommend to anyone.

“Amazing place, loved it!”

What a great place to take the family to. We were made to feel so welcome, Andrew & Emma are so friendly and accommodating. The farm is a great place to take the kids, and Emma even brought over a box of toys for our boy to play with. The photos of the cottage do not do it justice, it is so nice, clean cosy, with lovely decor throughout. Cooking meals in the kitchen was a joy as it has everything you need in there, with plenty of space to put the groceries. Having a real fire was also a benefit for feeling cosy & atmospheric in the winter months. The surrounding area is great too, we drove around a lot , there is plenty of shops to get your groceries etc within a mile or two, and of course there is the steam train station just down the road to take you into Haworth, which is a must! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

“A wonderful stay!”

We had a wonderful stay at Stones Cottage Farm and only wished we had spent more time there! The cottage is very nice and there are plenty of things to do around. The owners are really friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them a lot. Their cottage is on a farm and they provided us with their delicious coloured eggs.

“Great cottage for small family on working farm”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2013

We chose the cottage as our 1 yr old daughter loves animals, so the chance to see the sheep, chickens etc up close was a real pull. We found the cottage to be in excellent condition, fully stocked with all we needed, including toys and a high chair for our daughter. Incredibly friendly hosts in Andrew and Emma who made the stay a joy and put in a real effort to ensure we had everything we needed.

“fantastic cottage , catered for everything and warm and clean comfy.”

my partner and two children aged 9 and 14 yrs stayed for three nights and we were dubious about our teenager "thinking it would be boring" how wrong were we. On arrival andrew and emma the owners made us feel warm and welcome and so grateful for the tea cofee ready .The cottage is spotlessly clean and everything you need is available . My partner fell in love with the fire and it was like the bahamas at times because he wanted to play the caveman with playing with fire. The bedding and beds were very clean and very comfy. Our teenager loved the cottage and often we found her sat in the main bedroom gazing and relaxing out the window . Fantastic day out on the steam train and good value for day ticket. Andrew and emma kept us all entertained with games and toys a huge thank you and now our other family are going to visit and we will certainly be back soon .We now only buy free range eggs so thank you for the knowledge you gave us too .

“Fantastic Cottage in beautiful countryside”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2012

You need to stay in this cottage!!! It is situated in beautiful countryside within easy reach of Hebden Bridge and Skipton as well as about 30 minutes from the beautiful Bolton Abbey. The cottage itself is very well equipped with everything you should need including lots of extra touches like wii games and videos! We found it to be lovely, warm and cosy even in the cold winter nights. The owners Emma and Andrew are fantastic hosts and cannot do enough for you. Will be booking very soon for next year!!!

“Friendly hosts, excellent views, relaxing stay!”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2012

We stumbled across Stones Cottage Farm by accident when looking for a very last minute break. After reading it was a chicken farm we were initially a little apprehensive about noise and smells, but we needn't have worried! Despite the chickens and being alongside the main Hebden Bridge to Oxenhope Road the property was very tranquil with beautiful views front and rear. If anything, I felt the property description overplayed the noise. Andrew and his family who own the property and live in the farm house next door were very accommodating whilst not intrusive, providing fresh eggs from the farm, logs for the fire, wifi, dvd's and offering various activities on the farm for children and adults alike. With a 3 month old baby we weren't able to make the most of what was on offer but I'm sure slightly older children would have loved the chicks and geese. The cottage had been recently refurbished, very clean and very well equipped, with a comfy living/dining area and good size beds. The bathroom was the only slight disappointment but was clean and functional, if not quite up to 5 star standard. Plenty to do in the area to fill a four day stay. Would definitely recommend.
