Location description from owner

The East Anglia region

North Norfolk is easily accessible by car or train and offers a wide variety of seaside activities together with steam engine railways, fantastic golf courses, surfing, National Trust historic houses and gardens, local farmers markets and great shopping at Georgian market town of Holt.
One of the dryest counties in the UK, the area is mainly rural and the pace of life is slow! Perfect for a lovely holiday.

Overstrand

Overstrand is a lovely unspoilt village with a good pub serving food, local shops, cafe and a stunning large beach. The village has fine examples of the architect Lutyens buildings and is built around the cricket green.
Easy access to the Broads and within just a mile of the famous Royal Cromer Golf Course.

“Excellent accommodation”

Reviewed 28 May 2013

We stayed at Beachcomber Cottage for 1 week 17th-24th May 2013. On arrival we found the cottage to be very clean and comfortable and there were fresh cut flowers in the dining room and sitting room. There was a nice welcome pack including a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. The cottage has nice quality finishes and is very spacious. The lovely beach is very close and it is ideal for walking the dog. The local pub serves nice food and it is very dog friendly and the village is charming. We would highly recommend this cottage as a fantastic holiday destination.

“Spacious comfortable cottage in excellent location”

Reviewed 7 May 2013

We stayed at Beachcomber Cottage for a week over Easter, with various members of our extended family visiting from nearby Norwich. We found the property very comfortable with an excellent layout of bedrooms and bathrooms etc. We love the area anyway and Beachcomber is a great base from which to explore, and sitting watching the sea and sunsets from the living room was a joy, we hope to return!

“Fantastic Cottage, Lovely Location, Great for families.”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2013

What a fantastic Cottage. My Family and I stayed for a weekend in April. The cottage was brilliant and had everything you would need. The house is so versatile. It's perfect for a lovely sunny day as you can open all the doors to look out at the sea and garden or equally as snug if it's pouring down with rain. The location is within walking distance of the beach, pub and café, all of which we made use of. Such lovely touches by Val. On arrival we had wine and biscuits to greet us. We will def be visiting again, hopefully for much longer this time. Thanks again to Val for making us feel so welcome.

“The property could not be bettered, very light & airy about 1min from the beach”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2013

Great house hired for the weekend, safe for small children the garden being enclosed. House was very well presented with large kitchen & lounge. The children particularly enjoyed their "own room" up stairs from the lounge ( & tv). Bedrooms were excellent. Will definitely return

“Lovely holiday home for a family”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2013

As grandparents we wanted a spacious and clean house for the family to stay with us. Beachcomber Cottage was perfect for two couples and two children. It had everything we had wished for and the lounge was light and airy and had a view of the sea. The children, aged 8 and 6, loved playing in the garden and one minute away was a play area which we visited at least twice a day. With a nice beach so close it would be perfect for a summer holiday but this April it was great for long walks. We would recommend the Ship at Mundesley for a meal out - the staff were exceptionally friendly and the food freshly cooked. I couldn't recommend this cottage and the surrounding area more highly

“A warm and welcoming place to stay”

Reviewed 1 Mar 2013

There were 6 adults in our party so it was important that each couple had their own facilities. The cottage was lovely and warm, thoughtfully decorated, spacious and in a convenient spot. When we arrived we found wine, milk and buiscuits to greet us and it was appreciated that Val made a personal visit on our first night. I hope we will be able to stay in Beachcomber Cottage in the future.

“What a beautiful cottage! And very friendly too.”

Reviewed 23 Feb 2013

We had a lovely time. The cottage is beautiful (and very spacious: we particularly loved the two-level living room with the sea view!) , immaculate and well-equipped, the welcome was very warm and helpful and we shall definitely come back. A couple of minutes wander to the sea too, and lovely walking along the beach and over the golf course towards Cromer. No more expensive than a hotel room but with a three year old girl having all that space - and separate bedrooms - makes all the difference in the world! Very highly recommended.

“Superb holiday cottage and great location”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2013

The cottage has been designed for the perfect holiday with the family. It is fun and an outstanding quality. There is plenty of space and the back doors open onto a small garden overlooking the sea - perfect. Everything is on one level so also good if you need to take Grandparents too. Val is an excellent owner - so well organised and available if any problems. Overstrand is a small unspoilt village beyond Cromer. Quiet but well loved by families. Beach is great too, just watch tide times. Superb.

“Fantastic Cottage”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2012

Beautiffully equiped cottage, close to beach, close to cromer and everything that we wanted and more, totally recommend this for short or long breaksxx advantage of being able to bring dog was also fabulousx

“Spacious and comfortable cottage, metres from the beach.”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2012

Beachcomber cottage is a real find. There is a private wall garden , front and back. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The rooms are a great size with a lovely bathroom. The living space was fabulous. My 6 year old hung out upstairs, while my parents relaxed downstairs. Our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer. Just a few yards to the beach and playground. The real discovery was the fresh dressed crab for sale at the beach hut.
