This beautifully designed and decorated cottage is one of six buildings which are set around a courtyard near Over Haddon. Set in the heart of the Peak District National Park, the property benefits from an elevated position and the location offers superb, panoramic countryside views across the stunning Peak District scenery. The master bedroom has a wooden, four poster kingsize, reclaimed beam bed, a small cupboard for hanging clothes with drawers , a dressing table and mirror and stool and two bedside tables . There is a velux window and side window . The velux window has fabulous views towards Lathkill Dale. There is a further bedroom with two single beds. A wardrobe and bedside table . ( no window in this room but it is very quiet and cosy) . There is a family bathroom with a bath and shower over the bath , fitted unit , basin , toilet and heated towel rail . A spacious kitchen diner offers a large family size table for dining, a microwave , dishwasher , washing machine and a selection of crockery and cooking utensils etc . the living room has comfortable sofas , a large television and Wifi. The property is furnished with award winning Indigo furniture and is furnished to a very high standard.
There is a paved area directly outside the front of the property with seating and a rotary line . Guests can drive and unload by the front door and then park on the car park situated virtually opposite the entrance to the courtyard .
There are numerous walks directly from the door, with further opportunities nearby for cycling, horse riding and rock climbing.
Over Haddon itself is a quaint Peak District village which offers a traditional 19th-century pub and award-winning café, and makes a perfect base to explore the spectacular limestone dales of the beautiful Lathkill Dale and nature reserve. In addition, the high quality independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants of the popular historic market town of Bakewell can be easily reached in around 5 minutes. Baslow, 4 miles from Bakewell, is home to the exceptional Chatsworth House and gardens, or visit the medieval manor house of Haddon Hall. You can also join the traffic-free Monsal Trail for walking or cycling.
Nearby Peak District villages include Ashford-in-the-Water and Rowsley, and you can reach the spa town of Buxton, Castleton with its caves, Matlock and Carsington Water in around half an hour. The UK’s premier theme park, Alton Towers, is around a 45-minute drive. Shop 2½ miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant 2 miles.
This is a pet free property so no pets allowed.
PARKING: There is a car park almost opposite the entrance to the Courtyard. There are two spaces available for the use of guests at Courtyard Cottage in this car park. We will send details /maps prior to guests arrival. The Courtyard is not a parking area but guests are permitted to drive onto the Courtyard for the purpose of loading and unloading vehicles but no overnight parking is allowed.

We stayed for a couple of nights in this lovely cottage. It was well located to visit near by Bakewell and Chatsworth House. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because there wasn’t a welcome pack so had to go out straight away to get some milk. We stay in a lot of cottages so felt that this let the cottage down.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful place. Had everything we needed to spend Christmas with family. Appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations.
Gorgeous cottage inside and out! Beautifully furnished - could have moved in and stayed forever. Great scenery, local pub friendly and reasonably priced
“Beautiful cottage, beautiful location”
This was a beautifully clean and well equipped cottage that suited our family of 4 perfectly. Due to the location and the great walks on the doorstep we didn't feel the need to use the car for our whole stay. Would definitely recommend.

“What an amazing find :)”
Booked this cottage for a reunion with 2 other friends for a relaxing weekend of chatter, food, drink & a visit to Chatsworth. Cottage was truly amazing - everything before the visit was given to us in information and welcomed by a lovely basket of food and drink. Couldn't think of 1 thing that wasn't there and everything so clean and well catered for. This was by far the best cottage we have hired in our 12 years we have been meeting and would totally recommend it to anyone. Went to the village pub on the Friday which was a lovely meal and Chatsworth a definite visit. Didn't want to come home. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

“Perfect place for a lovely break.”
This cottage is perfect and we (3 ladies on a celebratory break) felt completely comfortable and at home as soon as we arrived. The cottage is immaculately clean, lots of space and very comfortable. We've all said we'll come back together and separately with our families.

“Absolutely perfect for our requirements”
There was a hamper waiting for us also with milk for a cup of tea and wine for later in the evening. The heating was on, lovely and warm, fridge and freezer on and to proper temperatures. Cosy and very tidy cottage with all amenities which worked properly with large flat screen TV with sky and dvd player. Grandson loved the added feature of broadband and mobile phone signal. We loved the cottage,it had absolutely everything you need and furnished to a high standard.We have enjoyed many breaks in the area before and just love the whole feel of the Bakewell surroundings.Anna and Darren left us a welcome hamper which was a lovely touch and made sure we enjoyed our stay.We will definitely be back.

“Court Yard Cottage Stay”
I should start this by saying that I am extremely particular and I won't lie, I'm a little bit on the fussy side. But I/we absolutely loved everything about our stay in this cottage, and the prompt, thorough and helpful communication that was offered from the owners before hand. We were delighted as we opened the door to the cottage to find a very warm, clean and cosy cottage along with a very welcoming hamper basket filled with lovely things to eat and drink. Every room was very tastefully decorated and we were provided with everything one could need. The place was really clean!, no dust, no stains, perfect! what a relief!. Maria, was so helpful in offering advice about the area and has even offered to send back items of clothing left by us which is really good if her. This was honestly one of the most memorable trips that we have ever had and this is mainly due to that little cottage, we couldn't wait to get back to it of an evening, it really was a home away from home. 10/10 rating from us, and a great experience all round.
