The Turkish Aegean Coast region
This is probably the easiest area of Turkey to get excited about. From Marmaris to Antalya the coastline is gorgeous, the weather is excellent and there are heaps of things to see and do. The Turquoise coast at its finest. This has become the principal destination of choice for many first time and repeat visitors. It is also, of course, the area that shows the highest level of tourist interest, the rugged nature of the area is exciting because access is more difficult down here, but well worth the trip and with better infrastructure more of the coastline can be seen.
This region reflects the ancient Lycia culture and they knew a thing or two about designing cities.
Between Fethiye and Antalya there are a score of sites worth seeing, Lycian, Dorian, Roman, and almost anything whatever you can imagine. Highlights include Myra, Simena, and just about everything in the Xanthos valley, not forgetting the magical site at Olympos. These excursions can be booked through local tour operators and the biggest selection are probably in Hisaronu, Fethiye or Kalkan.
The coastline from Marmaris to Fethiye is green and spectacular, the beaches are generally pretty good, ranging from large pebble to golden sand, and it is here, usually via Dalaman airport, that you will enjoy your Turkish summer Holiday and have a great time.
The key to enjoying all the delights that this area offers is mobility provided by just getting on the myriad of small buses 'dolmus' only a few pence each, running up and down the coast, you will be more than rewarded for your effort, and if you can hire a car the flexibility of exploring the more remote beaches, bays and villages.
The nature of the landscape lends itself to activity and a growing number of companies are offering daily excursions, tours and whole holidays based on getting out and doing things. Investigating the options before you travel will probably pay off in the long run but you'll find somebody willing to help you everywhere you go.
Do consider visiting out of season if you can. Anytime from April to October is fine and the spring in particular is lovely down here. In the autumn the water is still warm and you should find everything easier and cheaper outside of the July/August rush.
Hisaronu and Ovacik lie close by in the mountains behind Oludeniz, surrounded by pine forests and beautiful countryside. These resorts have grown from the popularity of Olu Deniz itself, as when the conservation area made it impossible to build more hotels and apartments by the sea, the hillside villages within easy reach of the beach started to grow. Both resorts are now incredibly popular with British guests and this area has something for everybody from the quiet resort of Ovacik, the bustling strip of Hisaronu with its many bars and restaurants to one of the most famous beaches you will see at Oludeniz with the Blue Lagoon. You will find something for all ages holidaying here, including, Sunset Cruise, White water refting, Paragliding, Daiky boat cruise's, Mud bath at Dalyan, Jeep safari, Turkish night, Scuba diving, Quad bike safari, 12 Island boat tour, Aqua park, Turkish bath, horse riding, and cycling.which is a perfect introduction for your first holiday, or for one of the many visitors who return year after year to Turkey and often buy a property here!
Fethiye is a bustling regional centre and with a lot of history, one of the oldest towns on the coast and the most popular, it has a large flat coastal flood plain and a natural marina with both fishing and charter boats.
The summer season sees regular trips to Rhodes about one and a half hours away.
The famous Calis beach some 5Km north is served by water taxi and dolmus is around 4 Km long where you will find a shingle beach with shops bars and eateries along the front.
Marmaris is not for the faint hearted! It is a large resort with many hotels and complexes with a busy holday feel and bustling night life. If you want a traditional Turkish holiday this may not be the place to be, but a jewel in the crown is the old harbour and castle with its traditional bars cafes and narrow streets and picturesque water front. The beaches here wil be the highlight of your holday, with many public and untouched ones in town and the surrounding areas. Marmaris caters for all tastes, busy night life, sailing, watersports, night cruises, beaches, bar street and almost any activity you can think of, if you want to party - it is here!
Dalyan is a special & unique town which is overlooked by ancient Lycian Rock Tombs which are the last resting places of the Kings of Kaunos. The canal goes through the village on its way from Koycegiz Lake to the beach, so this is a great place to take a boat trip to one of the ancient sites. Dalyan offers something for everyone whilst maintaining a wonderful friendly atmosphere. The 7 Km long Iztuzu beach is protected, for it is here that the endangered Loggerhead Turtles lay their eggs and can be reached by the Dalyan Canal or minibus. Sarigerme beach and Ekincik bay are both well worth visiting and are popular trips from Dalyan
Kalkan is a beautiful town of character from the Ottomen era, once a Greek fishing village called Kalamaki it is now a upmarket resort offering its visitors a wonderful experience of Turkish hospitality. The waterfront has a selection of restaurants and bars to relax & watch the boats in the harbour or you can shop in one of the many shops selling local crafts & designer clothing. There is a pebbly public beach just beyond the harbour with a blue water flag! Kaputas beach is a lovely sandy cove backdropped by a striking mountain gorge.
Patara beach is a majestic 12 Km sand and dune waterfront in a designated national park area, both can be accessed by Dolmus from the centre in about ten minutes. If you stay in Kalkan then the beach clubs with ther paved platform terraces and sea ladders can be accessed by water taxi. Kalkan night life bustles with activity with tavernas and international restaurants aplenty in the winding streets and many excellent bars and shops.
The charm of Kas comes from its unhurried ambience & because it is further away from Dalaman airport it gets fewer visitors than the resorts further up the coast. Originally a local fishing village, Kas has lost none of its charm and here ruins of the acient town of Antiphellus mix with the more modern buildings to create a unique & wonderful atmosphere.
Just 2km away across the water to the South is the Greek island of Megisti (Kastellorizo) which explans why this resort has a 'Greek' feel about it and even the Greek natonals from the Island come over to the Turkish mainland to do there shopping here and visit the medical centres. There are two beaches here, known as big and little pebble and they have many swimming platforms along the coast for a great swimming experience. A great choice of mouth watering Turkish restaurants awaits even the most demanding gastronome, with its cuisine ranked amongst the top five in the world. You will also find a myriad of bars and tavernas and for a little adventure, try the water taxi to Limanagsi beach and eat at the restaurant there.

"Just what we were looking for."
We booked this Villa from the end of June for two weeks off Peter Jackson. All the booking procedures and feedback off Peter were top class. Thank you for the chance to stay at this superb Villa. Sunset View Villas are situated on Babadag Road, which is the main route up Babadag Mountain. This is where the para-gliders take off from and even if you dont wish to experience this, go up there for the stunning views. The Villa is the Fifth from the roadside so is not affected unduly by traffic noise. Also there are no buildings directly in front of the property so when we walked out onto the bedroom balcony for the first time we both went 'Wow'. Outside , the pool area is very accommodating with plenty of clear access and ample room for the sunbeds. No squeezing past needed. Brilliant. The garden is well looked after and maintained. Oh and a bbq for those lovely warm evenings watching the sun set with good company and an ice cold drink. Inside the Villa the kitchen/lounge area has all the necessary goods. Large fridge freezer, dishwasher ,washing machine, oven, hob, toaster and microwave. Plenty of cupboard and worktop space complete with a very good selection of crockery, utensils and pans, all in excellent state. The lounge has tv with internet access to digital channels, so if you need to keep up with your programs from home then its easy peasy. Watched Silverstone and reception and picture were faultless. WiFi is also in the lounge which was a prerequisite for our party, so that we all could see what was going on with our friends whether on Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram or e-mail. Downstairs toilet has a shower in it so if you've been out for a walk to take in the beautiful surroundings you can wash off before getting in the pool to cool down. On the first floor the master bedroom is situated with ensuite and full balcony. Brilliant views and plenty of room for the table and chairs . On the second floor are two more bedrooms both ensuite, one with double bed and one with twin beds. The balcony outside is full with shared access through sllding doors. The view from here is stunning. All of Ovacik and Hisaronu is below you and the forested hills before Kayakoy behind them. Perfect for the sun to drop behind and give you a glorious red/orange sunset. Looking over to your left you can see the sea down by Oludeniz. We have stayed in this area on numerous occasions before and still we find so much to see and do. Ovacik and Hisaronu are sort of one place with plenty of restuarants, kebab houses bars to go round. The main shopping and clubs are in Hisaronu. Takes about 15 minutes to get to the centre. Because the Villa is set up on the slopes of Babadag you obviously have to go uphill to go home. This can seem a bit of hike after a night out but there are plenty of taxis available at all hours. Personally i prefer the walk. So overall if you are looking for a Villa close to the town but far enough away from the bustle with views to die for and a pool of tranquillity this Villa is for you. Enjoy. We sure did. Our party was my wife and I, our two daughters ,one with her fiancée and the other with her friend. Thank you Peter and Sandra.

Have just spent 11 nights in this fabulous villa with my husband, teenage daughter and her boyfriend. The villa is very well equipped and nicely furnished - a real home from home and with 2 teenagers, the wifi and UK tv was a bonus! There was plenty of room both in the villa and around it so it never felt crowded and we all had our own en-suites so could also have some privacy. The pool is just fantastic with lots of sunbeds and shades and it gets the sun from early morning until sunset. It is a fair walk uphill from Hisaronu but for us that was a plus point - great views and away from all the hustle and bustle. A 10 minute stroll downhill takes you to lots of great restaurants - our favourite was Barracuda - and 10 lira is all it costs for a taxi back home! We all had an amazing time and can only thank Peter and Sandra for their help and for renting out their lovely home. We will definitely be back for another holiday here!

"fantastic 2 weeks"
just came back from a fantastic 2 weeks at the villa absolutley outstanding villa and views of the area the only drawback is that it was already booked for when we wanted to go again next year very modern and clean can not recommed highly enough
6 Aug 2012
This villa is stunning, very mordern, very clean, maids came every 3 days, the master bedroom is lovely, the whole second floor, on the 3rd floor my 2 sons had a room each, they shared a balcony, they sat most evenings there before going to bed, perfect for them to get away from the parents, we loved staying here. Getting up in the morn and stepping out to the pool was just heaven, so peaceful and beautiful. The sunset at night was gorgeous, I cant rate this place highly enough. The villa is situated up the hill a good bit but we hired scooters and at times walked downhill to hisaronu and got a taxi back up (10 tl) also being part of Orka we were able to get them to pick us up when we wanted to go to the hotel for entertainment, any issues we had Orka were onto it straight away. My only regret is we have booked another villa for next year before we went to this one, I wish I had waited because I would go back here in a heartbeat. I cant find a single thing wrong with this place and we wish anyone staying here a wonderful holiday. Thankyou to Peter & Sandra and hope to book again in the near future. From Marie & Robert
