'Westwinds Lough Corrib'

This lovely self catering detached cottage is situated in the gateway to Connemara and on the shore of lough Corrib with its own private pier. Set in 2 acres of private gardens it boasts unsurpassed views out over the lough and islands to the Mamturk mountains. Fishing and the fabulous Oughterard Golf Club are right on your doorstep whilst horse riding and hill walking are nearby. Just a five minute drive from the busy little town of Oughterard with its shops, bars and good selection of cafes and restaurants Westwinds presents the perfect opportunity for a relaxing holiday with family or friends.

West Winds has three comfortable bedrooms and can sleep 7 people. The master bedroom is very spacious with its own en-suite bathroom. The house has been recently refurbished and boasts two sitting rooms, both with large open fires and picture windows/patio doors looking out to the lake. It has a large open plan kitchen with a big dining table.

Possibility of Boat hire for the week to very experienced boat people only!

Owner would be interested in non simultaneous swaps to other holiday destinations (especially during low season)

Galway and its surroundings are famous for many festivals such as : Film festival (end June), 'Galway Arts Festival' (mid-July), 'Galway Races' (end July), and the Oster Festival' (in September)
Tourist attractions: The house is ideally situated for trips to the wonderful scenic area of Connema. Corrib has superb fishing. Oughterard Golf Club (18 hole Parkland) is only minutes away . You may also go on beautiful walks (Connemara Way) and there is wildlife for the keen photographer. Visit Co. Clare e.g. the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren with its spectacular views and the Aran Islands.

Oughterard is a traditional village in the West of Ireland nestled beside Lough Corrib (the largest lake in the Republic), at the start of the Connemara Mountain Range and only 17km from Galway City- The City of tribes.
There is so much to see and activities to enjoy in Oughterard and it is also the ideal base from which to explore the wider area. “Great house in a fantastic location.”

The house was clean, tidy and very comfortable. The large gardens were an excellent playground for the children. A relaxing and enjoyable stay - lough views stunning.
