Location description from manager

The England region

Enjoy a stroll on the farm. A pleasant walk, with small signs indicating the way, is to take the lane (an abundance of wild flowers during the summer season) down to the tiny stream and ford, then proceeding over to the small lake (a naturally occurring stream fed lake), through the fields and back to the holiday cottage. As well as being a good vene for picnics the lake also offers the opportunity for coarse fishing. The lake was restocked with a variety of fish during 2004 -interestingly the lake retains fish that had found their way into the lake naturally, probably via the feet of storks or other migratory birds. Naturalists may be lucky enough able to spot various wildlife; including kingfishers and other birds attracted to the lake.

“A Tardis in North Cornwall”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2016

Wow! This site does not do the house justice, it is far bigger then it appears in the photos. Also, the living room has a wood burner which is really lovely when lit in the evenings. It also has central heating which kept the house warm most of the time, but as you have no control over this it did go on and off at odd times. The kitchen is well stocked with most kitchen paraphernalia that you could wish for and we could comfortably cook and serve Christmas dinner for 8. The farm is a lovely place to walk around, and although we didn't take advantage of the fishing there the lake is stunning. One thing that does let it down is the downstairs shower room which at best was chilly but mostly freezing but this was a minor problem and helped ensure the shower queue moved rapidly. The farmer and his staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
