Our cottage is ideal for lovers of history and countryside. Once an important border stronghold between England and Wales, Oswestry boasts an ancient hill fort which looms high above the town while Offa's Dyke National Trail marks the boundary. This unique setting allows you to enjoy the best of both cultures. On the Welsh side are historic treasures like the castles of Chirk, Powis and Whittington. Other delights include Snowdonia, Lake Vyrnwy, Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall and the spectacular Pontcysyllte Aqueduct World Heritage Site, built by Thomas Telford - if you've a head for heights, experience mind-boggling scenery and travel across by horse-drawn barge. The historic towns of Chester and Shrewsbury are just 25mins drive away.

Oswestry

Treflach is a quiet hamlet just 4 miles from the bustling market town of Oswestry. Once an area for quarrying, peaceful woodland and countryside now surround our cottage with views of the impressive Berwyn Mountain range in the distance.

There are several pubs within a few minutes drive of Treflach as well as a village shop in nearby Trefonen and a superb farm shop just 2 miles away as well as all the local shops and markets that Oswestry has to offer.

Dog owners will be spoiled for choice for places to walk and enjoy our beautiful area.
