I enjoyed a lot this week in Ossucio.

Sant agata is a wonderfull place in a calm and tipical italian village.

The location is excellent regarding the main villas and villages to visit.

The house is very clean. It is easy to park. The in processing is very simple and efficient (key box).

The informations provided in advance are very usefull. I was very wellcomed at Menaggio office.

I warmly recommend this house.

Location description from owner

The Lake Como region

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries. It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations. All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself. Warming, in spriing and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo. The most romantic and picturesque villages on the lake are Santa Maria Rezzonico, Varenna (15 min by ferry) & Bellagio (8 min by ferry), Lenno (visit Villa Balbianello, location for 007's Casino Royale as well as Villa Gaeta, right here in Menaggio) & Laglio (where George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra).

Ossuccio

The ancient village of Ossuccio has a fascinating past with its medieval bell tower and the famous hillside UNESCO world heritage site of ‘Sacro Monte di Ossuccio’ and today offers a vibrant place in which to stay on Lake Como, with the many amenities and famous visitor attraction of Villa Balbianello in Lenno being just a short walk away. The local amenities of the village include a bar, Bank with ATM, green grocers, tennis courts, park, a public beach with views over L’Isola Comacina and a boat rental service easily accessible on foot. A frequent bus service also runs from the village, taking visitors either southwards to Como city or heading north along the desirable central western shore, to the delights of Tremezzo and Menaggio. The pretty rustic village of Sala Comacina is also just a short walk away and where a beautiful lakefront restaurant can be enjoyed as well as the famous visitor attraction of the L’Isola Comacina, the only Island on Lake Como and which after a turbulent and rich history is now home to a unique restaurant. The lovely town of Ossuccio, one of the best starting points for mountain walks, or boats trips on the lake, especially around the beautiful island of Isola Comacina, which you can explore by boat. Why not book a meal at the only restaurant on the island only 2 mins. away away by boat.Ossuccio enjoys a sunny aspect on the west side of the lake and is ideally situated to visit all parts of the lake. The lake side garden here, in the heart of the village is just 10 minutes walk from your accommodation and is popular for sunbathing, enjoying a drink, sunbathing or taking a dip in the lake! Restaurants, bars and a bank can all be found in the village.Lenno (Villa Balbianello-James Bond) with the water ferry accessing all parts of the lake is just 3 mins drive with supermarket.Villa Carlotta (Tremezzo) with it's majestic gardens is just a short drive and Bellagio is only a water taxi or ferry ride away!Como city and Switzerland are just 1/2 an hour away and another 30 mins will take you to Milan or Monza for the formula 1 grand prix!
