Fawcett Mill is a stone built cottage situated mid way between the Lake District & the Yorkshire Dales National Parks but with easy access from the M6. It offers family or friends groups comfortable country accommodation in 7 acres of meadowland alongside a stream & The Howgill Mountains , waterfall & terraces down to the stream with BBQ & outside furniture, with central heating but the atmospheric benefits of log fires, old kitchen ranges, saunas, dining altogether as a family/group, & 4 poster bedrooms. Its a great Family/Group of Friends " Get Together Place"!

We ask for a 20% deposit to secure a booking with the balance along with a security deposit of £150 being due 8 weeks prior to a rental. The rental includes everything except towels & fuel for the log burners [mainly for atmosphere as the house is gas centrally heated], although we do provide a starter kit.. Security deposits are returnable within 10 days

The cottage has 2 four poster double bed bedrooms, one ensuite, and 3 shared shower/bathrooms. There are two lounges each with satellite TV. The Dining/Living Room area has a log range & a rayburn cooker & can accommodarte the party around one or more options of dining table arrangements. A great get together place for the groups eating & drinking. There is a sauna room on the ground floor.There are 2 kitchens, the main one & a subsidary one which is often used as the groups 'bar'. Outside there are terraces down to the stream, the top one just outside the main klitchern door with stone built BBQ , outdoor seating & great views down to the stream & adjacent waterfall.

There is off road parking for 5/7 vehicles in our own 7 acre grounds & great outdoor sitting areas, & meadowland alongside the stream belonging to the house which you can wander around. Down the hill our local farmers Steve, Barbara & Michael Dunning, at Raisgill Hall, think that holiday makers are a real benefit to the local economy & offer terrific produce from their own Beef herds & sheep flocks &, in lambing time, are delighted to show kids & families the new lambs

Before the creation of the M6 this was a remote region, not easy to get to, but today to the left and right of the M6 is beautiful, empty faming land, fantastic views & friendly local people.

Cumbria, at the very north of England, is amongst its most beautiful regions.

The Lake District National Park has long been celebrated for its mirror lakes, craggy peaks, holiday cottages and country houses.

Orton

Orton is a living village, with school, Hotel/Pub...The George Hotel,... Post Office & Shop which sells most things holidaymakers want, a Tea Room. Church & a local Chocalatierre chocolate Factory.

Located on the path of the famous Coasat to Coast route, it is popular with walkers partculaly in the summer months. Every fourth Saturday, there is the famous Orton Farmers Market.
