From the owner

Magnificent apartment set by the lake facing the Island of Saint Giulio with breathtaking views of the mountains, the lake and island. The apartment consists of laminate wooden flooring throughout. The entrance leads into the lounge with dining area. The fitted kitchen is directly next to the dining area where there is a terrace for 'Al Fresco' cuisine. The terrace has a table and chairs for cosy dining or if one prefers there is a roof terrace also offering a table with chairs. Sun loungers are provided on the roof terrace where one can enjoy total relax with a view of the small marina. The bathroom comprises of a walk in shower, bidet, we and wash basin. On awaking one has the beautiful lake view with the sunshine shimmering on the water.

Thank you for your review as I appreciate your feedback. I would like to be objective about your review but find many of the comments untrue and would like to mention a few. I do understand that you did have nearly a week of rain and miserable weather which does make the apartment darker and you may have needed the lights on in the lounge area as you were unable to go out as much as you may have liked. The bedroom area is a room unto itself but does lead onto the corridor.( As you can see from the photos). which in turn leads onto the lounge. The bedroom is not visible from the lounge even if it is semi open plan. The folded bed in the corridor was there for a reason as I was requested this for a child the previous week and as it remains like a chest of drawers when it is closed, we normally leave it in the apartment for these occasions to offer this service. When one chooses a centre of the village location, I am unable to ask people to be silent in the main square of Orta even if the by laws request low noise after midnight. Also if you were not happy with the cleaners from the local council cleaning the streets then you should make a complaint to the council as unfortunately I have no possibility of changing the laws. Maybe a rural location on the outskirts of Orta would have suited your needs better. Philippa is not there to argue and apparently offered you the possibility to change to another place if you were not happy, but you agreed to stay because it would have been difficult to find an equivalent priced apartment as most of the apartments in the centre of Orta are of a higher price bracket. The shutters have been checked and seem to close o.k although Philippa said you were afraid to lean out to pull them closed. I do agree with you that one week in Orta is normally enough time but if one wishes to visit the other lakes such as Maggiore, Mergozzo and the area, then Orta is a perfect position as a base. Public transport takes one to these locations or hiring a car is a good idea. The guide book provided in the apartment does offer information on what to visit in Orta and in the area. Regards Raquel
