Casa Rif is a large detached townhouse at the front of the village of Cañar. It has a very large, private roof terrace (60m2) with a heated jacuzzi/spa, BBQ and quality lounge and dining furniture. Canar is uniquely situated in the High Alpujarra - nearest village to Orgiva with all its amenities only 10 mins' drive away, yet also has everything you need close to hand - a grocers open 7 days a week, pharmacy and 2 great bars serving meals and tapas. At an altitude of 1150m , Casa Rif boasts open views that are truly unrivalled in the region to which no words or pictures could ever do justice. The Andalucia region

Granada and La Alhambra are an hour by car, while the ancient cities of Sevilla and Cordoba are easily managed in day trips. The beaches of Salobrena and Almunecar are about 40 minutes by car.

Orgiva

Unspoiled, wildlife, lush, mountains, flora, sunsets, sunrises, friendly, historic, alternative, tapas, Berber, peaceful, Moorish... so many descriptions used and overused in a thousand narratives of La Alpujarra. For me, it's the light. Mountains appear so close in the morning, crisp and clearly defined, then seem to retreat in hazy pastel shades in the heat of the sun. The day ends with long shadows, javelins of light from the west, sharp on whitewashed village walls in the evening. Bliss.
