All these will make your stay pleasant and fulfilled

Omis

Dalmatia is a region on the eastern coast of Adriatic Sea, situated in Croatia. With only 50 km wide at its widest part, it is mostly a coastal region characterized by its coves, secluded beaches, islands and inlets. Due to the rugged coastline and numerous islands of all sizes and topographies, diving, yachting, kayaking and other outdoor activities are very popular in this part of Croatia. Dalmatian coast is known for its warm sea, beautiful islands and stunning medieval towns: Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Šibenik, Makarska, Trogir, Omiš...

The second-largest city in Croatia, Split, is a great place to see Dalmatian life as it's really lived. Always buzzing, this exuberant city has just the right balance of tradition and modern. Split is the largest city of the region of Dalmatia. It lies on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea, centred on the Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian. Spread over a central peninsula and its surroundings, Split's greater area includes the neighboring seaside towns as well (Trogir, Omiš).

Very good communications with the nearby Split and beautiful natural beaches of this part of the Riviera have enabled the development of tourist trade whose traces are to be seen even before the World War II. A number of small fishermen's villages along the Riviera have had a long tourist tradition and culture. The Cetina River and its magnificent canyon are cut into the picturesque mountainous massif in the very background of the town. On its way to the sea the river has created numerous long sandy beaches which are characteristics of this part of the coast and make it one of the most beautiful, unusual and incomparable. Without any doubt, the river Cetina is one of the nicest places in Croatia where you can experience the magic of a rafting adventure. It is situated in a luscious region surrounded by quaint little villages. There are lots of stories surrounding the naming of this river. Passed down through the centuries several theories on the naming of the Cetina River have emerged. One possibility is that some of the first Croatians that came down from Northern Europe towards the warmer Southern coast, finding the river and naming it Cetina because it reminded them of the river "Cetynia", in Southern Poland which was their last Nomadic residence. A more likely possibility is that the Cetina river derived its name from the Latin word "Kentona" that was given by tribe Dalmates. Croatians over time changed this Latin word to Cetina. This region is very important, both historically and archaeologically. Along the Cetina's tall canyon walls real archaeological fortune can be found: bottle-axes from the stone-age, shields from roman soldiers, personal items from middle-age peasants... and many other interesting artefacts. These findings confirm that people from this region are descended from an historical-age...As the years passed by, the surrounding regions Cetinska and Krajina developed. This area is surrounded by the mountains Svilaja, Kamesnica and Dinara. This is a very productive region where you can find many small towns and villages, grasslands and green meadows full of flowers, grass and life. During moist springs there are many colourful flowers in the meadows and bees in the air. The Cetina river itself is teaming with life, Supplying drinking water to much of Dalmatia.

Village of Svinišće is in the hearth of Dalmatia.

“A great villa near Omis”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2016

We are a family of 5 and loved our stay at Villa Eagle. The location was beautiful, the villa had everything we needed, and the pool, badminton and darts kept our boys happy for hours. Denis was incredibly hospitable and cooked an amazing meal for us, as well as recommending local activities. We had lots of fun rafting, canyoning and zip wiring on the Cetina River and enjoyed Omis when we did leave the villa.

Amanda and her famili was a very pleasent and polite guests. I enyojed beeing host for them. The comunication was great. I recomand them to all hosts. Hope to meet them again
