“Good location too many things not working”

Nice modern complex only 5 mins walk from nice beach area and some really nice restauarnts but had quite a few problems with the actual apartment. For the duration of our 10 day stay we had no air conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms, tv lounge/living area and games room and it was very very warm weather. The letting agents made a half hearted to get an engineer out to look at it after a few days of me pushing them, they then proceeded to inform us that they needed a part and had to order it, joke!! For those upstairs including children It was really uncomfortable at night trying to sleep in those conditions, I eventually managed to get a mobile air condition unit from someone I know who stays in Portugal even though the management company said they had tried everywhere to get one! The tv in the upstairs living lounge didn't work for the first 6 days, eventually they got round to fixing that after they got the code from the owner, the wardrobes were broke, the guy came and looked at it and said he'd be back in a day or two with the part, never seen him again!! we had to request housecleaning after a week even though in the terms it says it is provided! It's a shame because it was a nice complex in a good location but i'm not sure if it was the owner or the management company who are at fault. I have asked to be compensated for all of the above and the fact I had paid a considerable amount of money for an a so called air conditioned luxury apartment and that wasn't what I got in the end but needless to say they've all went quiet so be careful.

Unfortunately during your stay there was an issue with the upper floor air conditioning system and the TV in the room upstairs and as this is a new property to our portfolio this year we were unable to respond to the TV teething problems as quickly as our usual high standard of service. However we do not agree that only a half hearted effort was made as we were in contact almost daily with updates,plus visiting the property for several hours including a transatlantic skpe call with the owner in your presence . We were in contact with the supplier & technician several times a day to resolve this issue which was due to a fault in the integrated air con system requiring a part to be delivered from Belgium . It is correct that we were unable to rent a mobile air con unit from local suppliers as all were in use but had made all efforts to source one for you until we were informed that a friend had loaned you one. I have copied below the e-mail sent to you on 20th July and after receiving no response from you it was resent again on 3rd August to which we did not receive a reply , hence do not understand or agree that we have been quiet with regard to the issue. Dear Mark, We are sorry that unfortunately the air conditioning has broken down during your stay and due to the cause of the fault it has not been possible to repair it as the technician is awaiting still awaiting delivery of a replacement part. We were unable to source a mobile air con unit from our usual supplier as requested and therefore 2 fans were provided as a temporary measure however I understand that you have managed to rent one directly yourselves. Obviously the cost of this will be reimbursed on presentation of the receipt. With regard to the TV you will be aware that I spent several hours at the property with yourselves trying to resolve this and the air con on several occasions so feel it is unfair to say that there had been no interest form our part in resolving this . As the properties are privately owned we will try our utmost to resolve any issues as soon as and where possible and although the terms & conditions state that we cannot accept any liability for failure of public supplies such as water, electricity, internet, tv or breakdown of the air conditioning system we are awaiting to hear from the owner with regard to your request for compensation . I hope you enjoy your last evening in the Algarve and once again we apologise for the inconvenience caused . The good news in that the upstairs air con system was replaced fully and is now in perfect use.
