Description

Old Hutton is a small, quiet & friendly south Lakeland village split into three sections. Dragons' Den is in the last section called Bridge End & sits in a small cluster of similar properties surrounded by farm land and open countryside. Peasey Beck runs alongside the property - you can hear the water flowing most of the time except in exceptionally dry conditions!

The owners are keen to welcome their guests & offer local knowledge & advice. They provide lots of information: maps, leaflets, guides, books and board games, DVD's, a 'welcome pack' and can be on - hand if you experience any problems.

The Lake District National Park is about 7 miles away as is the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Our nearest towns are Kendal, 4 miles, and Kirkby Lonsdale, 6 miles.

The local pub is 2 miles up the road offering the real ale experience.

We welcome cyclists & bikers, with or without an engine & can provide secure storage

Location description from owner

The England region

We are ideally situated on the Cumbrian/Yorkshire/Lancashire borders.

Going north will take you up into the Lake District National Park and east into the Yorkshire Dales.

The Lakes speaks for itself but you can get away from the obvious honey pots of Windermere, Ambleside, & Keswick & see the quieter, more hidden treasures - Far Sawrey, Brothers Water, Coniston, Patterdale, Glenridding - it is endless.

Beyond the quaint Cumbrian town of Sedbergh and beautiful Dent you can head into Yorkshire - Ingleton with it's stunning Waterfalls Walk and White Scar Caves and just abit further will take you to Hawes, Englands' highest market town, which is home to the famous Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese - which you can sample in their creamery.

Old Hutton

The local area has a busy calendar offering much diverse entertainment & activity.

Mintfest , our international street arts festival in August is as popular as ever, showcasing our food, traditions and hospitality!

Another 'show stopper' is the stunning Kendal Mountain Festival in November - which continues to grow and grow.

The Westmorland County Show is a one-day agricultural show in September that never fails to entertain and shows off our wonderful Cumbrian life at its best.

The area has many festivals and gatherings throughout the year offering something for everyone.

Grizedale Forest with its endless bike trails, walks & the 'Go Ape' experience.

The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal is a bustling place with a huge reputation - cinema, music, theatre, comedy, visual arts and The Grainstore Restaurant & Vats Bar. For five weeks from the end of July and through all of August you can enjoy the Summer Sundays live music in the Brewery Gardens.

We are situated between Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale- both offerIng very different experiences.

Kendal with it's quirky "yards" and "ginnels" to explore , some great eateries with local Cumbrian Faye and our wonderful Brewery Arts Centre.

Kirkby Lonsdale is a beautiful market town with unique shops, cafes and pubs. A visit to Devils Bridge is a must and a great place in the summer to have a swim and a picnic. Along the river path will take you to the Radical Steps where at the top you can take in Ruskins View over the lovely River Lune.

The house is very nice and confortable, I'll recomend you. Thanks
