A fabulous house, ideal for two families and really honestly within walking distance of a superb sandy beach. Whether you have teenagers or toddlers, this house is perfectly situated to ensure you have a wonderful holiday. Old Hunstanton is a hidden gem, offering the kind of carefree holiday that is difficult to find. A spotless beach, windswept dunes and shallow waters provide action and adventure for young children or teenager kitesurfers alike. The village boasts a great deli and village shop as well as a cool beach cafe, gastro pubs and fine Michelin star dining to cater for all tastes.
Ongar Lodge is a cool modernist house, recently updated, with a huge, enclosed garden and a fantastic den for chilling, playing loud music, watching DVDS, or building lego. The house comprises a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and two bunk rooms. Adults can sleep in the bunk beds, but they are really designed for children or teenagers. The double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, with bath (no shower) and there is a separate shower room. The open plan kitchen dining area seats 8 people and the upstairs sitting room boasts fantastic views to the sea and a relaxing place to sit and read and relax. The large garden is great for playing cricket or boules, and is fully enclosed and perfectly safe for young children and dogs (although small ones can sneak through the hedge - dogs, not children!). There is a gas barbecue too and parking at the front for at least four cars.

The East Anglia region
Norfolk is a world apart; a wild windswept land with huge skies, miles of sandy beaches and dunes swaying with marram grass. Even in the height of summer there is room to play cricket on the beach, there is sailing, windsurfing and kayaking along the shore, crabbing in the harbours and bird watching in the marshes. For rainy days, there are grand houses to visit at Holkham and Houghton, the royal residence of Sandringham is nearby and there are ruined castles and a Victorian gaol at Kings Lynn. There are lots of lovely delis, seafood shacks, farm shops and pick your own fruit farms close at hand to sample the local produce including samphire and soft-shelled crabs, or cool beach cafes, cosy pubs and world class restaurants if you wish to eat out. The North Norfolk coast offers holidays like we used to have; carefree and uncomplicated.
Old Hunstanton is a hidden gem. If you don't wish to get into your car, there is no need. You can get all you need at the village stores, including freshly baked croissants every morning; or eat at the beach cafe or one of two pubs; or even at the Michelin starred restaurant, The Neptune Inn. If you want to walk a little further around the point, or take the handy little coast hopper bus, you can grab excellent traditional fish and chips or pie and mash in Hunstanton itself. The star of the place is, of course, the beach but there are plenty of other activities to keep you interested. See www.norfolk-on-line.co.uk/hunstanton/pages/oldhunstanton.php

"Fabulous house in a great location"
Ongar Lodge is a fabulous house in a great location. The house has been beautifully designed with a real sense of style and is flooded with light. You have views of the sea from the lounge and the main bedroom and it is at most a five minute walk to a beach that goes on for miles. The kitchen is very well equipped and quality bed linen and towels are supplied. The house was beautifully clean and well maintained with some very nice artwork and a modern bathroom and shower room. The rear garden is a very good size and enclosed and will be enjoyed by children and dogs alike. There is a fabulous Zen Den with a huge TV and a large comfy sofa. We were fortunate enough to have fabuous weather and took our two dogs to the country park which is part of the Sandringham estate which had lots of country trails, was free and has a lovely cafe and restaurant for after the walks. There are some fabulous National Trust properties in this area. I would definitely recommend both the house and the location. Thank you.
