Description

This beautiful villa, built in 2003, is situated in Pittulongu, Sardinia, in a tranquil world of its own yet less than 20 minutes from Olbia Airport. It is set on the hillside at the very front of a luxury development where no two residences are the same, overlooking the sea. There are spectacular views of the Isle of Tavolara. The unspoilt beach is just 700 metres away but if you fancy an even more localised swim area there is a swimming pool for the exclusive use of the residents.

The exterior walls are painted terracotta, and in typically Sardinian style, hand washed to give a unique appearance. The Villa is surrounded on 3 sides by a private walled garden. All the windows and doors have wooden shutters. There is a huge terrace running the entire length of the villa. This terrace is shaded by a beautiful wood beamed roof and supported by hewn granite pillars, clad in delightful pink flowering bougainvillea. This terrace is shaded by a beautiful wood beamed roof and supported by hewn granite pillars, clad in delightful pink flowering bougainvillea. The terrace is an ideal place to dine, or just relax, absorbing the view of the garden, with its 150-year-old olive tree, fruit trees, rare plants and colourful flowers.

The south facing garden soaks up the sun for the entire day. It is almost entirely detached save for a 2 metre shared wall by the front door. The terrace has a large round wicker table with 8 chairs, plenty of space to sit and relax over an evening meal.

Location description from owner

The Sardinia region

There are many prehistoric and historic sites to visit, wondrous illuminated caves, resplendent with stalactite and stalagmite formations to explore, boat trips, bike rides, and walks, but Sardinia is most famous for its huge variety of Caribbean style long white sandy beaches, hundreds of unspoilt and crystal clear emerald green sea, truly 'the best beaches in the Mediterranean', and, other than in August, almost completely deserted. Whatever style of holiday you desire, from the most relaxed to the most sophisticated, you can be sure to find it here.

Olbia

The Villa is ideally located in the North East of Sardinia, Italy, just 800 metres from the unspoilt white sandy beaches of Pittulongu. 15 minutes away lies the exclusive area of the Costa Smeralda, this beautiful coastline contains stunning beaches and hosts the ultra chic ports of Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo, where the rich and famous moor their yachts. It is also justly famous for its multi million pound villas discretely built into the hillsides, many of which have their roofs completely covered in grass and flowers. Only 10 minutes in the other direction lies the Roman port city of Olbia with its shops and many superb cafés and restaurants, plus all the facilities that you would expect in a city, such as an international airport, hospitals, internet café's, couriers, etc. etc. Situated a ten minutes drive away is a brand new international geo village with fantastic facilities including a 5* spa, Olympic size swimming pool, restaurants and a gym.The locals are famed for their warmth and hospitality, and there are many feast days celebrated in traditional dress amid the plethora of unspoilt villages throughout the Island.
