Beautiful countryside full of Historical places of interest (a few listed below) and thriving Market towns.Picturesque Dartmoor has inspired the famous authors of "War Horse" and "Hound of the Baskervilles".Okehampton is a small market town that has Waitrose, Co-Op and Lidil as well as a number of independent traders. It also boasts its own Castle and the Dartmoor Museum. Good local food can be found in the Pubs as well as a warm welcome.

We can recommend the White Hart in Bridestowe and the Fox and Hounds at Lydford for food and they are only a short drive.

“A great place to stay”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

Very happy with the accommodation, clean and tidy. With everything you could need for your stay. Situated in a lovely location and only a 15 min walk to the nearest Pub. We were made very welcome and would definitely like to return in the future.I would have no problem recommending to a friend.

“Warm & comfortable base”

Reviewed 26 May 2013

Lovely caravan, compared to some we've stayed in. Well designed with plenty of space - a sofa each and one to spare! A dining table looking out over the garden and central heating which was great given May's inclement weather. One suggestion would be to have individual reading lamps in the bedroom, as they are both controlled from one switch so if one of you reads late then both lights have to be on. A good base to do some walking on the high moor and easily accessible from the military road from Okehampton camp. Castle Drogo is not far away and worth a visit.

“Fabulous quiet retreat in a superb location”

Reviewed 23 May 2013

Our family stayed for a short weekend during the ten tors event that my son was participating in. With direct access to the moors and a cycle path, we couldn't have asked for a better location. We really loved the peace and privacy here that you can't find in an ordinary caravan park. The owners couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and we are definitely planning a return trip when the sun comes out!

“Excellent value for money, lovely setting good clean accommodation”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2013

Stayed here whilst visiting family in Devon, Ned and Anita were very friendly but also left you alone to enjoy your stay. Caravan was spacious and very well decorated making it a lovely home from home. We took our dog, who enjoyed all the walks right on your doorstep. This holiday was very good value for money you would find it hard to find such a peaceful setting away from all the crowds but near to many attractions, we will definitely be visiting again!

“warm n cosy, clean, friendly hosts and fantastic surroundings”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2012

Shorts break during the October Half Term. All the amenites you require for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Anita and Ned our hosts were very friendly and willing to accommodate any of our needs. My daughters loved leading the ponies and donkey home and enjoyed grooming and feeding Dylan the donkey in his stable. Access for walks on the moors is fantastic. We will return to this wonderful hideaway.
