Welcome home to Fava!
An unforgettable experience. Our goal is to make you feel that Fava is your own home and Santorini, your island.
The Fava Eco-Residences are housed in a group of splendid and unique captain houses of the mid 19th century, located at the highest point of the traditional village of Finikia. The architects and owners of the property started the rebuilt in the 1980's with love and devotion and they transformed the properties into a spacious and modern, though with respect to the original traditional form, complex of summer houses. Today, the villas offer their hospitality in individual fully furnished self-catering apartments of various size and aesthetics. They offer a sense of 19th century history, combined and harmonized with modern amenities and serviced by 24/7 concierge staff, located in the heart of the most picturesque and virgin from the tourist development village of the island. Fava is just a stone's throw from the magnificent Oia and away from the crowds and noise. During the reconstruction there were used methods following the bioclimatic sustainable vernacular architecture and materials which are eco-friendly with low embodied energy. All houses have wonderful views over the village, the famous sunset of the island and the Aegean Sea with the close by Ios, Sikinos and Folegandros islands on the horizon.
Villa Fava, one of the most prestige properties on Santorini, consists of 3 individual apartments (2 ground floor canavas and one on 1st floor) that can be used either unified as one house of 194 m2 total area that accommodates up to 11 persons, or as three totally separated apartments called Helios Suite, Gaia Suite and Aeolos Suite. All have specially insulated double wooden doors and with each compartment having its own bathroom with large showers and fully equipped Kitchens. The property offers spacious areas for living, dining and sleeping and 3 spacious outdoor sitting areas under the vineyard and the white grape leaves. The apartment is furnished with 19th century wooden antiques, according to the traditional naval history of the first owners. The internal temperature varies from 21 to 24 Degrees Celsius throughout the summer period due to the bioclimatic vernacular construction of the residence. In the house you will also find 24-7 Wi-Fi access, iron and ironing board, plasma TV, hair dryer, CD players with Classical Music CD's and multilingual Books. You are given the opportunity to live in Santorini like you own your private mansion.

The Cyclades region
A place blessed by God and nature and yet so troubled by fate. Magnificent and wild, Santorini is unique throughout the world for its stunning natural beauty, result of the volcanic eruption of the 16th century BC. A place like a chest of rock on which the whitewashed villages hang like acrobats on the edge of the cliffs and on the other side lay beautiful black volcanic beaches and crystal clear deep waters. Apart from its incomparable beauty, the island offers relaxing moments in authentic Cycladic environment, exceptional gastronomic choices, rich nightlife and a unique study the ancient culture that has a history of over 3,500 years.
During the 18th and 19th century, the village of Oia experienced the prosperity of the naval merchandise. In Finikia lived the farmers who worked in the valley and vineyards, but also the captains of Oia had their summer homes and canavas. In the early 20th century there were over 150 canavas that were left off after the war and the devastating earthquake of 1956 brought the village to abandon. Since the mid 1970's slowly and with patience, new residents began to return and to reconstruct the old houses on permanent or holiday homes. Today, Finikia is a small, well-preserved traditional village now united with Oia with just 10 minutes walking distance. You can stay and experience the feeling of tranquility and authenticity, visiting the beautiful beaches and vineyards in the vicinity of the village.
