“Amazing place near Oban”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2014

Thank you very your lovely review. So glad you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed the beautiful west coast.

“A holiday let so good I'm reluctant to tell you about it and thus find it fully booked next time!”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2013

Sometimes the lastminute.com approach to booking doesn't pay off but for us it paid off bigtime. We wanted somewhere to stay in Oban itself but there was little left to choose from so we cast our net further afield and caught a gem. In a really peaceful location, not too remote but with no passing traffic, Grove Cottage cottage was ideally located for all that we wanted to do. And more. With a south facing garden and a lovely view we could have stopped there soaking up the sun all week (ok, we got lucky with the weather) but made the most of our time with lengthy walks in and around the area including mountains, forests, lochs and the seashore. With an abundance of wildlife and stunning views there was plenty to see. Apart from people. The area is so vast it easily absorbs the summer visitors and at times we walked for miles without passing the time of day with anyone. The area also has myriad cycle tracks and paths for those who prefer to explore a little more quickly. The cottage is extremely well equipped but on a couple of occasions we drove into Oban (a few miles away) to stock up on fresh food and to eat out. Shirley, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with, promptly replying to our queries by phone, text or e-mail. Thoroughly recommended, just save the odd week for us to be able to visit again!

So glad that you had such a lovely holiday at Grove Cottage. Holidaying on the West Coast really is so wonderful and we look forward to welcoming you back again and again!
