Inland from Oban the west coast scenery mellows and the rolling hills and glens provide plenty of space and freedom to roam. You are never far from the water and sea lochs, rivers and burns dominate the countryside offering first class fishing. Within an hour’s drive you have the highland town of Fort William and Ben Nevis, and closer still you have the glorious gardens of Argyll, numerous historic castles (Dunollie House in Oban is worth a visit) museums and ancient standing stones in the birthplace of Scotland at Dunadd.

Lerags location is less than 3 miles from Oban town centre making it an ideal base for a holiday in Scotland. There is plenty to keep the family occupied on site too including a forestry commission trail which leads from the car park outside The Barn Bar, where excellent meals are served using locally sauced produce, to Loch Glean a Bhearraidh, here guests can enjoy free fishing for wild brown trout. The Barn Bar has live music on Sunday afternoons and is open all year (weekends only over the winter months), there is a beer garden and a wooden play area and fully fenced duck pond to keep the children amused. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area, most from the site.
