We specialise in ski and multi activity breaks with a first class service ensuring you have a fun and relaxing holiday. Our chalet is based in the pretty market town of Morzine - Avoriaz, in the centre of the Portes du Soleil ski area - one of the biggest ski domains in the world with over 650kms of pistes for all abilities. We will provide you with all of the local knowledge required to explore and enjoy this vast area as we live here, we are not just working a season like most chalet hosts!

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

Part of the massive Portes du Soleil, Morzine is a picturesque town with excellent facilities for both winter and summer.

Morzine is a popular resort with a little something for everyone. People wanting to experience a traditional small town ambiance, with plenty of opportunities for shopping and eating out, and a varied nightlife, will love it.

Families looking for entertainment and good children's facilities will also find lots to do to keep the younger ones happy.

It is well linked into the extensive Portes du Soleil area and has a frequent bus service to get you around town and to the main lifts with ease. It also has its own fairly extensive ski area, linked via the Pleney and Nyon lifts to Les Gets.

It is a lively year-round resort and a bustling market town - the life outside tourism is still there, the agricultural heritage remains strong.

It is an ideal winter and summer destination in the Alps, and is just a short 1 hour and 15 minute transfer from Geneva airport.

French Portes du Soleil

The Portes du Soleil is one of the largest ski areas in the world, and has runs and off piste to suit every taste. Morzine Avoriaz has 2 indoor swimming pools and a huge choice of non skiing activities. Morzine is a great alpine base for summer and there are plenty of things to do for everyone.

Extensive walking trails, mountain biking, rafting, via ferrata, paragliding, are just some of the activities available for all ages and abilities.

Far from being just a tourist resort, Morzine is a charming and bustling small market town, and it's agricultural heritage is still very much in evidence.

Along with it's smaller neighbour, Les Gets, just 6km away by road, the area has become something of a mountain biking mecca in recent years - often playing host to national and international competitions.

Road biking is also popular, and the town has regularly featured as a starting or ending point for stages of the Tour de France.

Situated at the confluence of several mountain streams, Morzine can also offer white knuckle whitewater activities on the River Dranse.

With a car it is easy to visit some of the most beautiful parts of the Haute Savoie - Annecy, Mont Blanc, Les Aravis for example - and Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) and its attractions are not far away.

“Fabulous food, hosts and holiday”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2015

Would recommend to anyone to stay. The welcome, food and facilities are all you need for a great holiday. The host's have vast local knowledge about the best skiing, places to visit or eating and drinking.

“Premium Holiday at Mid range price.”

Faultless. If it is your first time skiing or a seasoned veteran this place ticks all the boxes. Proper Alpine accommodation with attentive hosts offering top drawer facilities and superb food. Minivan to required lift in the morning returning to an outdoor hotub and a beer beneath the stars......

“Exceptional luxury ski chalet that offers an exclusive 5 star homely retreat.”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2015

Our hosts offered premium hospitality in traditional alpine building with stylish contemporary décor. Deeply comfortable beds ensured we slept soundly. After having top quality breakfast the heated boot room ensured we had a good start to our days skiing. Our hosts could not do enough to help us, thank you for running us around. I feel that there is more to Jo's meals than just food ,the care, quality and attentive service was most appreciated by us.

“I want to go back!!!”

I can honestly say that i've never felt more relaxed, spoilt and cared for on a holiday before. Jo and Simon have perfected the ideal ski and food experience. The chalet is beautifully decorated, full of charm and personality. The food was wonderful & Jo was so in touch with all dietary requirements. Simon got us to the lifts on time each day not an easy thing to do with 5 12-16yr olds, as well as 4 sleepy adults! All the recommendations for ski hire, lessons, taxi's, restaurants etc were perfect too. Jo and Simon are such lovely people and that's what makes the difference.

“Great food, lovely accomodation and fabulous hosts”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2014

We stayed with Alpine Activities for a multi-activity weekend which included rafting, via ferrata, hydrospeeding and mountain biking. The activities were great fun and our accommodation was very comfortable. Simon and Jo are fabulous hosts and the three course evening meals served in the chalet with endless wine were brilliant. Don't forget your cozzie as the hot tub is perfect after a hard day in the mountains!

“Excellent family holiday.”

Fantastic stay. Beautiful chalet, amazing food, and a wonderful summer family holiday. So much to do for the children. Simon, Jo and family make the perfect hosts. Thank you .

“Mountain Biking in the Alps”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2014

Fantastic time mountain biking in the Alps only bettered by the friendly and excellent service and accommodation provided by Jo and Simon. It's what you imagine a chalet to be in the Alps; traditional, fantastic setting but with all the mod cons and Jo's food to die for. Looking forward to returning soon.

“Great food great accomadation great value five stars”

I can't thank alpine activities enough. When we first arrived at the chalet we greeted with a warm welcome with proseco reception and nibbles (as requested). Then shown to our rooms which were well equipped with plenty of space to hang even my wifes travel wardrobe and accessories the beautiful antique bed was well furnished with a warm duvet and extra covers if needed for those cold Alpine nights and was one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept on. Getting back to the living quaters of this very spacious chalet our party of eight adults had plenty of room to relax with wine, beer, Tea, Coffee and watch British television catching up with the all important news back home or enjoying music from the Ipod dock on the music centre and of course the free wifi all from the comfort of the chairs and sofas. Now on to the food (and I do like my food). I feel you would be hard pressed to find better anywhere in France. It was fantastic, Jo asked all our party if they had any food allergies or preferences on how they liked thier dishes prepared and delivered every meal as good as any I have had even in top restraunts all accompanied with great wine and beers, I found myself unable to turn down seconds whenever offered. As for the location for our ski trip this is the best ski resorts I have visited we were blessed with great weather and fresh snow most days and our host and ski guide Simon made getting everything sorted like ski and boot hire simple and easy. He had a good raport with the staff at the hire shop and translated our wishes very well. On the slopes he knew which ones would suit our abillity and explained on the maps the lifts and routes to take this took all the faff out of the days leaving just great ski fun and no worries. Apres ski in Morzine is also very good with a wide variety of bars and restraunts to suit everyone some offering happy hours which Simon also pointed out then it was back our hosts mini bus and back for some more of Jo's great cooking and a rejuvenating dip in the outdoor hot tub. to sum this holiday up..... fantastic hosts, fantasic food and accomadation, out of this world skiing, just brilliant we cannot wait to get back out there. thanks to Jo and Simon

“Excellence at its best”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2014

On arrival, the property exhumes quality, this is then matched by the hospitality and skiing . Then just as you think things simply could not get any better there is the ultimate dining experience of Jo's cooking , food that is second to none ! Transfers to and from the lifts are made very easy by Simon and his mini bus, if it is your first time then the leadership of simon on the mountains proves to be priceless fo a cople of sessions but also endless runs to explore on open piste and amongst the trees, beautiful All in all this is highly highly recommended you would be a fool to book elsewhere.

“skiing excellence”

Reviewed 22 Feb 2014

The great thing about Alpine Activities is that everything is handled for you which makes a skiing vacation first class. There are quite a few requirements when planning skiing but when you have Simon and Jo looking after you everything is sorted from Lift passes to equipment hire which means you maximise your skiing time. Simon's knowledge of the resort and area is second to none and every ski holiday we take with Alpine Activities produces new skiing areas and new challenges. The Porte du Soleil really is a vast resort and you can ski in France in the morning and Switzerland in the afternoon. To have such an accomplished skiier look after you and show you spectacular views and runs in a weeks stay would probably take about 4 weeks if you were to navigate on your own. The accommodation has a really cozy feel to it and when you are gathered with friends enjoying a first class evening meal, chatting and laughing about the days events it can only be described as being like "Christmas Day Every day" for the length of your stay.
