Location description from owner

The England region

Situated in the SW corner of England Cornwall is well known for its mild climate and gorgeous beaches. Maybe the historic sites are less well known but no less interestingThe Park is situated just into Cornwall over the historic Tamar bridge. This makes it an ideal location for visiting all of Cornwall and its sister county Devon with the naval city of Plymouth just 8 miles away. You will be ideally placed for visiting the Eden project just 15 minutes away and for a special day out please try and visit the Minarck theatre- an open air theatre near the end of the county at Lands end. There is quite literally something for everyone whether it is pure relaxation close to nature, family activities, or a full blown activity holiday you can find it with easy reach of The Park. Not only that but if food and drink is your passion then the range of excellent restaurants to suit all budgets are also close to hand. There is a family pub that serves food within walking distance of your bungalow ( about 5 minutes walk) as well as other choices within a short drive. And for the more adventurous you can enjoy the cosmopolitan restaurants of Plymouth ( including the restaurant of TV stars the tanners) and Padstow. Who hasn't heard of Rick Stein?

Notter

From the dramatic scenery of the north coast of Cornwall to the small sheltered bays to the surfing paradise of Newquay there is a beach for everyone within easy reach. Or perhaps you can explore the coastline of Devon with its strong maritime links such as Plymouth, and Dartmouth. The two nearest beaches to Notter Bridge are Downderry and Whitsand Bay. Downderry is just 15 minutes away located in a small village with a pub ,restaurant and shops. It is a mixture of sand and rocks so ideal to keep children interested. Access is easy. Whitsand bay is a lovely sandy beach with access is down a long flight of stairs but it is well worth the effort. There are no facilities at this beach. Dogs are welcome at some beaches all year round and at others operate a ban between April and October. Please check before goingWalking -Cornwall is a great place for walking especially with the coastal path providing 300 miles of walkingCycling-try out the Camel trail Padstow or the Plymm valley trail in Devon-both old railway tracks so not too hillyHorse riding-just a couple of miles away at Penewin stablesFishing can be found at Bake lakes or perhaps be more adventurous and go out mackerel fishing from Plymouth harboursurfing an experience not to be missed at Newquay and surrounding beachesGolf-there is a championship course at St Mellion just a few miles down the road or give it a go at the China Fleet club in Saltash Watersports

“Lovely holiday park but the property is in poor condition”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2015

The location of this property is in a very well kept holiday park with a lovely heated pool and a good play park for young kids, but the property itself was poorly maintained and poorly equipped. The bungalow had an overwhelming smell of damp in both bedrooms and stains on the ceilings of both rooms. The kitchen had good appliances, but there wasn't a huge supply of crockery and some of it was chipped. The property was not as clean as we normally experience in holiday rentals, and there was no hand soap, hair dryer or dish towels available. The location of the park is handy for Devon and Cornwall, but with young kids, trying to explore Cornwall from this location was sometimes a bit of a challenge.

We were very disappointed that your experience at Notter bungalows was not as good as it should have been. We have an ongoing programme of improvements and your review has highlighted some issues that obviously need some immediate attention. This year we had concentrated on the outside area and last year we replaced the kitchen entirely with high quality appliances and new units and large areas of flooring. We always appreciate feedback and most guests have a wonderful time and hope all future guests will continue to.

“Lovely quiet location - good for day trips & nice facilities for kids.”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2015

Owners extremely helpful & prompt with communication. Lovely quiet spot - a holiday park not a campsite so just bungalows in nice countryside setting. Great location for lovely day trips - beaches, national trust, caverns, cream teas - without having to go too far into Cornwall. Bungalow was nice layout & spacious enough for 2 adults & 2 children. Children's playground behind bungalow 5, which was great for our young kids but not at all intrusive as screened area. Bungalow could do with some updating in terms of decor but this is being done in stages & it already is a pleasant place to cook, eat & relax in. Bedrooms in separate area to living area, which was good for children's bedtimes. Plenty of cupboard space. Park itself pleasant & low key - or was when we went in half term. Really easy to find & Waitrose just 5 mins away. Would certainly recommend.

Thank-you for your review and we glad you had a lovely holiday with us. Do come again

“peaceful break”

A well equipped and comfortable bungalow. It is set in a lovely quiet park and very near to many great places to visit in Cornwall. I would recommend this as a holiday at any time.

“hugely improved property in ideal location”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2015

We have stayed in the property before. The setting is perfect - lovely and quiet although good amenities. In an ideal position to discover the sights in Devon and Cornwall. Since we stayed last there have been massive improvements to the kitchen and living area and the Wi fi is now free. We had a lovely break, will definitely return and would recommend to others.

“A little piece of Paradise!”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2014

We have stayed at Notter Country Park three times now...which speaks for itself. The park provides those of us who enjoy peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings an opportunity to relax and unwind. The heated swimming pool is excellent and quite a bonus with tables and chairs including several sun loungers dotted about the pool. The bungalow is spacious and tastefully decorated with everything you could need for your comfort. There is a TV, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, cooker and even a dishwasher. We especially enjoyed the private decked patio area with picnic table, also the large bath and shower with plenty of hot water. All in all I would thoroughly recommend No.5!

“Could be improved...but overall a good stay”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2014

We stayed at bungalow no 5 for 4 nights. The bungalow location was perfect and there was the outdoor pool and playground which the kids loved. The bungalow was very dated in it's decor and could do with updating. There were no instructions like how to use the dishwasher, hot water system or how to organise recycling and it had basic facilities. The main down side was the cleanliness and it smelt of damp. However overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again if decor was improved and it was cleaned properly.

“Great place to stay with a toddler”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2014

Clean and bright, spacious house with a well equipped kitchen for a self catering holiday. The play park and swimming pool are hugely convenient for keeping young children amused on your doorstep and the patio area with picnic table at the back of the house is a really peaceful setting for al fresco dining. Alternatively, we enjoyed nice meals at the local pub (a five minute walk away). We have booked with the owners of this property two years running and find them very easy to book with - prompt responses and very clear information provided. Lots to do and see in the local area - would particularly recommend Mount Edgcumbe Country Park for a family day trip.

“Lovely”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2014

We stayed in No 5 Notter Bungalows for ten days. There were a couple of minor issues in the house which were dealt with very quickly so no inconvenience caused. The park, tennis and pool facilities were great, although the pool closes at 6 which was a shame as we were out most days til nearly that time but when we availed of it the kids loved it. The house itself was perfectly adequate, less stocked than some places we've stayed but nothing major - ie. where we stayed last year had lots of towels, board games, coffee, tea, sugar, salt etc. We had brought these items anyway so was no big deal and they are not necessities when renting a holiday cottage. We found Saltash to be a great base to travel to other areas. We had a drink in the Notter Bridge Inn a couple of evenings and found the staff there lovely. We ate there one night and couldn't fault the food. They are also dog friendly which was great for our big mutt! All in all a wonderful family holiday.

“FANTASTIC TOP CLASS ACCOMMODATION IN QUIET BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2014

We booked a weeks vacation for a well deserved rest and got exactly that. The bungalow is spacious and comfortable with a newly fitted fully tiled bathroom and a kitchen with everything you would need for a family, even a washing machine and dryer. The living area has a wood burning stove, perfect for the cool October evenings, Good quality comfortable beds and sofa's and everywhere spotlessly clean. The park is in a secluded hollow, even though open plan the bungalows are surrounded by mature large trees, lots of birds and wildlife to watch. We took our two elderly dogs who loved their holiday as well - dogs must be kept on a lead in the park itself but there is a purpose made dog area where they can be let off the lead to have a run about, We were spoilt for choice as far as pubs and restaurants were concerned, most within 10/15 minutes drive with delicious home cooked meals at reasonable prices and most were dog friendly. It is also a good base to for days out to Plymouth, South Devon and Cornwall and if you are feeling very flush, Rick Steins fish restaurant at Padstow!! There is a childrens playground on site but we did not have chance to use it :-( We will certainly be booking again
