The Devon region
The coastal path is a major attraction for walkers, the Yealm is a fine natural harbour and attracts yachts throughout the year. There are a number of unspoiled beaches around the coast within walking distance.
In Plymouth the National Marine Aquarium and the Barbican are always worth a trip. There are also a number of National Trust properties in the area.
Nestling round the beautiful Yealm estuary Noss Mayo and the sister village of Newton Ferrers - Newton has a Co-op, Post Office, pub, butcher and a chemist. At high tide you can walk around in about 20 minutes. At most low tides you can walk across the voss in five minutes. The annual regatta pits the two villages against one another.
An historic city of international proportions Plymouth has been at the forefront of world maritime exploration for many hundreds of years. Overlooking one of the world’s great natural harbours Plymouth now welcomes visitors from around the globe. This vibrant waterfront city where a spirited maritime heritage meets a lively cultural scene can be enjoyed by people of all ages throughout the year.

"Probably one of the most idyllic spots in Britain"
Wonderful to be back in the South Hams where I grew up. Superb accommodation, nicely decorated and made very welcoming for our arrival. Lovely light rooms and comfy seating in lounge. Kitchen is small, but perfectly fine for holiday times: three of us didn't collide in it! The view out of the front windows, and especially from the garden just by the creekside is exquisite. Driving the last little distance to get there is not for the faint-hearted, and if you take two cars, a bit of shuffling may be necessary to park. But all of that is well worth the effort. In late September we found the place really peaceful. We're not pub-goers ourselves, but didn't find that having one next door was that much of a disturbance, even though it was really warm at night and customers were sitting outdoors.
Thanks, we love it there, and we love to be able to share the pleasure.
