“Beautiful barn in a perfect setting!”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2014

My family had the most wonderful time during our stay at Southwold barn. The facilities were absolutely excellent and Kate provided everything we could possibly want - from porta cots to help getting baby sitters to a weather report on the day of my brother's wedding! The barn is beautifully kitted out and the adults and kids absolutely loved the friendly farm animals who greeted us each morning. I would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay for all families and groups of friends wanting to visit the Cotswolds and would not hesitate in staying here again when we are next back in the UK. Well done Kate on all your achievements with the barn conversion and thanks again for all your help in making our stay a happy and memorable one.

“great cottage for small children and adults!”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2014

We booked the cottage for a weekend away with another family. The cottage was in a beautiful village which was a great location for the exploring the local area. Between us there were 3 children under 6 and they loved exploring the outside especially saying good morning to the resident sheep, chickens and peacock. Owners were really helpful with good suggestions on local activities and pubs, we would all definitely go back

“Beautiful location, beautiful house.”

Reviewed 22 May 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Southwold Barn. The location was beautiful, the house was well furnished, excellent quality and the owners were helpful and friendly. We even got to make friends with the local Peacock and some very cute lambs. Would definitely recommend to those looking for a relaxing weekend away with friends or family.

“Fantastic new year”

Wonderful place. Really amazing stay. There's everything you need for a lovely week away. You just need to buy the food & drink.

“A wonderful location away from everything - perfect for family get togethers.”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2013

My husband and I and our two children stayed at Southwold Barn for a week in August. We invited along all the grandparents also. There was plenty of room for us all and the barn was extremely well catered for...even down to books and board games should you require any further entertainment. We ate in every evening and even made use of the BBQ too. The kitchen was very well stocked and there was everything that you could ever need. Great that we had the use of wifi and the TV's were great also. Emma (who lives next door) was extremely helpful whenever we had any queries and very understanding when we explained our two year old daughter had attempted to paint her nails but instead had painted the duvet! Emma also welcomed us with an amazing lemon drizzle cake. We visited a different place everyday. My favourites would be Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm, Circencester and Burton on the water. There are lovely pubs nearby Garniche and one in North Leach called the wheat sheaf. Great food here and some wonderful walks. We also visited Chedworth Roman Villa which is run by the National Trust. All in all a fabulous relaxing holiday. Did I mention that we loved Mack the peacock, Rosie the duck and her ducklings, the sheep, hens and the cockerel! A fantastic holiday you won't be disappointed!

“Perfect for a range of ages.”

The small village life was just what we wanted. Close to a great local pub and near enough to the Town of Cheltenham if we needed it. The children loved playing outside and watching the animals. We were looking for a quiet, sunny place to retreat to after busy days exploring. The house was well appointed and Emma was very helpful in catering for our needs. Any small children will need to be supervised as there is a small pond but it is close by and easily watched.

“Superb hen do accommodation”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2013

I rented Southwold Barn for my best friend's hen do and am so glad I did! It's a lovely house in a beautiful location and had everything we wished for. There were actually 9 in our group but the owners very kindly agreed to let our extra person sleep on an air bed. The bedrooms were a good size, very clean and with comfy beds. It was also very handy having 3 bathrooms when we were all getting ready to go out. The lounge/diner was large enough for our group but the highlight was the outdoor area. We were blessed with sunshine all weekend are were able to eat outside and sunbathe on the grass - one of the owners, Emma, even kindly dropped some blankets off for us to lie on. The hens and Mac the Peacock were lovely to have around and added to the peaceful, secluded atmosphere. I would love to revisit Southwold Barn and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to either a hen party or a family, it's definitely 5 stars from me.

“Brilliant hen do weekend - comfy, clean and beautiful”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2013

We have just returned from spending a long weekend in Southwold Barn for my friend's hen do and had a brilliant time. The house fitted eight of us in comfortably and had everything we needed for the weekend, including lovely weather. The village is beautiful, as is the barn and its surroundings. We wish we could have stayed for longer!

“Great family holiday”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2013

Just got back from a wonderful family holiday in Southwold Barn, great base to explore the Cotswolds beautiful villages.Plenty of excellent places to eat within a short drive but we mostly enjoyed eating around the large dining table or outside in the pretty garden where we had a lot of pleasure watching the very tame peacock and chickens, especially our small grandson.Must admit a large fridge freezer in the kitchen would have been good but that is a minor niggle

“Christmas Family Perfection”

Reviewed 31 Dec 2011

Four generations spent a delightful Christmas week in cosy luxury. The senior members appreciated the ground floor bedrooms and bathroom; the 6 year old great granddaughter fell in love with (feeding the) chickens and peacock on their daily visit. The kitchen was a little small for this event but would be perfectly OK for a normal family holiday when you wouldn't usually cook the emu-sized turkey. Lots of extra storage space plus a freezer in the garage which was very useful. Lots of hot water; spotlessly clean; tastefully decorated and very warm (again appreciated by the senior members) with a quirky garden. Totally delightful. I am very happy to recommend this property, Take note that my sat nav only took me to the centre of the village. You need to take the road to the craft centre. C Hanlon. Christmas week, 2011.
