From the owner

Originally built as a small thatched cottage, it is now a delightful holiday location. Although the house has been in the MacInnes family home for almost 100 years, its newly refurbished interior is bright, cosy and welcoming - ideal for a relaxed getaway.

Heisgeir View can accommodate four people comfortably in a double room with en-suite bathroom and a twin room. Each bedroom has a TV and all bedding and towels are provided. The bathroom and the en-suite bathroom are both newly refitted and have heated towel rails. There is a bath in the bathroom and a shower in the en-suite.

The kitchen is fully equipped with oven and hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. Additional small electrical appliances include a kettle, toaster, Nespresso Essence mini coffee maker, slow cooker and a George Foreman grill and toastie maker.

From its elevated position, the view from the feature window in the living room provides stunning views of the Outer Hebrides, right out to the Monach Isles (Heisgeir) and across to Skye, South Uist and Barra. The living room also has a TV fitted with Sky Q and visitors can access their own Netflix, Amazon Prime and other accounts.

Throughout the cottage there is superfast fibre broadband, suitable for everything from posting on social media to running a Zoom meeting. There is good 4G coverage for mobiles and several USB sockets for charging devices.

Outside there is a large, fully fenced garden with stunning views in every direction and private off-road parking right at the door. A gate securely encloses the property.

The cottage is situated just 10 minutes from the famous RSPB Balranald nature reserve and North Uist’s glorious, white sandy beaches. It’s also an ideal base for visitors who plan to walk, cycle or fish during their stay.

The award-winning Westford Inn pub which serves with excellent food is less than a 10 minute drive away as well as Claddach Kirkibost for tasty lunches and fantastic coffee and cakes. Bayhead shop is 5 minutes drive away and stocks a good range of groceries, fresh rolls and bread and some local products like Salar smoked salmon. It also has daily newspapers.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Donald (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
