4 Star luxury apartment, fully refurbished in April 2013, Gilder's Green forms part of a handsome red sandstone 'B' listed building with residential parking (2 spaces) and south facing private patio to the front and sea views of Craigleith Island from the private rear garden.

Located just 6 minutes walk from North Berwick train station and minutes from the famous West Course, beaches, shops and restaurants, and within easy reach of Edinburgh, 'Gilder's Green' is perfect for your family holiday or golfing break. Within a few minutes walk you will find the North Berwick Lodge Grounds, a huge park with open space and excellent play area for kids.

The two bed property very comfortably sleeps 4 and also has a large, sunny lounge with double sofa bed and dining area for 6 people, together with Freeview, DVD player, bluetooth speaker system and wifi. One double room (which can be set up as a twin if required) and one twin bedroom, and a cot and high-chair are available on request.

Scottish Seabird Centre

Within walking distance of the apartment, the five star, award-winning Scottish Seabird Centre has something for the whole family, whatever the weather, with a Discovery Centre, gift shop, café and seasonal boat trips.

Museum of Flight

Located around 8.5kms from North Berwick - another five star attraction for the whole family to enjoy.

Myreton Motor Museum

The museum has a large collection of cars, bicycles, motor cycles and commercial vehicles dating from 1899. There is also a large collection of period advertising, posters, enamel signs, and toy vehicles.

Belhaven Brewery Visitors Centre

Located approximately 1.5km west of the centre of Dunbar in East Lothian the Belhaven Brewery was founded in 1719 and remains the oldest surviving independent brewery in Scotland and one of the oldest in Britain. It is likely that brewing was originally carried out by Benedictine Monks on the land around 'Bele' (now Belhaven) granted to them by King David I (c. 1080 - 1153).

Glenkinchie Distillery

Scotland's only lowland malt whisky distillery is at Pencaitland.

East Links Family Park

Located 20kms from North Berwick in Dunbar, the park is a great day out for the whole family with a host of indoor and outdoor activities including trampolines, soft play, climbing walls, go-karting, small animal handling and feeding and play parks.

Boat trips

During the summer months, boat trips depart from North Berwick Harbour to the world famous Bass Rock, Craigleith and to Fidra.

Walking and cycling

There are numerous routes, in particular The John Muir Way - a 45 mile continuous coastal walking path linking East Lothian with the City of Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. Bicycles can be hired at Law Cycles in North Berwick.


East Lothian is one of the best regions in Scotland for golf, with over 20 courses all within easy reach of the apartment, offering traditional links and classic inland courses. Some of the world's oldest and most admired courses can be found here including:

Muirfield - The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers

Host to the British Open Golf Championship in 2002 and again to play host in 2013, this course is widely acclaimed to be the best golf course in the UK and the world's oldest golf club.


Three exceptional golf courses on and around Gullane Hill, with marvellous views across the Firth of Forth and the East Lothian countryside.

Archerfield Golf Links

Two fairly new golf courses in the Archerfield Estate. Fidra lies between the 8th hole at Muirfield and the 9th hole at North Berwick, and although only opened for play in 2004 the Fidra blends very well into the group of premium golfing destinations in this corner of East Lothian. Dirleton also offers a first class golfing experience and the estate also houses an enormous clubhouse constructed in a colonial style.

North Berwick West

Within walking distance of the apartment, the West course at North Berwick, which was founded in 1832 is famous across the world as a traditional links course with stunning sea views across to Craigleith Island and the Bass Rock.

North Berwick East (The Glen)

Again within walking distance, this course also affords the golfer magnificent views across the Firth of Forth.


Another old course formed in 1867 and very proud of its heritage, it lies on the west side of Aberlady Bay, with many holes running along the shoreline affording magnificant views.


A very new golf course boasting an ultra-modern clubhouse with panoramic views across the water to the Fife coast.

Tantallon Castle

Located 5kms East of North Berwick - a stunning location - set atop a high cliff edge overlooking the Firth of Forth and the Bass Rock.

Dirleton Castle

3.2kms West of North Berwick you will find Dirleton Castle, with the oldest parts of the castle dating back to the 13th century.

Lennoxlove House

Set in a wooded hollow one mile south of the picturesque market town of Haddington, with breathtaking views over the Lammermuir Hills you will find this historic house which has stood for over 700 years.

I visited Guilders green for the weekend with my partner, mother and three year old daughter. We all enjoyed our stay in fantastic accommodation in a superb location. We will definitely be returning at some point this year.

"A beautiful holiday home situated in a stunning part of Scotland."

I can highly recommend Gilder's Green to anybody in search of a peaceful getaway. Such a clean, cosy, well decorated home. There are plenty of games, books etc within the cottage and the kitchen is well kitted out if you do fancy cooking whilst on holiday. If not though, North Berwick hosts some beautiful cafés, pubs and restaurants. We also went swimming in the local pool and took advantage of the amazing surrounding walks, I would suggest everyone walks up nearby Law hill and visits the lovely beach which is also close by. All in a pretty amazing place to go for a holiday.

"Gilders Green is Excellent"

If you go to North Berwick, we did as a family with to teenaged daughters, please consider to stay at the beatifull, clean and well equipped Gilders green.Gilders green is a quiet cottage near all facillities in North Berwick. It's also a good point to go to Edinburgh.

"excellent cottage close to town"

this was everything I hoped for-comfy and well equipped with lots of great touches for a new property-welcome basket,books,games,wi-fi etc with excellent parking and just a few minutes walk to the middle of town with lots of good restaurants and shops

"Fantastic! Great Holiday Home!"

Excellent accommodation will definitely return soon, very clean and everything you could possibly need...especially liked the additional touch of a welcome basket with some biscuits, water and a bottle of wine! Perfect location, only a ten minute walk into the town centre where.

"Well equipped and cosy cottage in a great location."

The booking was straightforward and communication was good. The property was spotless and well equipped. It was ideally located for exploring North Berwick and the wider East Lothian and was only a short walk to the train station, making Edinburgh city centre only 30 minutes away. The beaches and park in the town are great for children and there is a wide selection of shops and restaurants all within walking distance.

Thank you for your excellent review. Having a little one of our own, we like to ensure the property is well equipped for kids and it's great to be within a few minutes walk of the Lodge Grounds with the wonderful park for children to enjoy - we have spent many an hour there with our 1 year old!

"Excellent holiday home with a real holiday feel, clean with all mod cons"

I booked Gilders Green last minute and the property did not let me down. I was traveling alone while having friends stay over night at different intervals. I felt at home straight away and also felt very comfortable and safe in the property alone. Gilders Green really was home away from home with games and lots of DVDs for those rainy days.. The property is close to the train station and to North Berwicks High Street. I would recommend anyone to stay at Gilders Greens. I am already planning to stay again later on this year. Excellent customer service from the Property owners to ensure a comfortable stay. It's a gem off a find and I miss it already....

"Great location and well equipped accomodation"

We had all we needed and more in this wonderful, cosy cottage. Suitable for our family of four, with 2 young children. Lovely town with all you need within walking distance. The views are great. We even had great weather! Excellent communication from The Gilders regarding all queries we had. A fantastic break, Thank you Lynn and Murray. I'm sure we'll be back.

"Lovely cottage in excellent location"

Lovely cottage set in quiet grounds. The cottage was well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Other benefits include WiFi access. It is well placed and only a short walk from North Berwick train station, the high street and the beach. It is also a good base for exploring the Lothian area and it would be easy to get into Edinburgh for a day trip if you wanted. I would happily stay here again.

"Best holiday let that I have stayed in."

A lot of thought has gone into furnishing this holiday let. It felt like home from home. Kitchen well equiped for those who want to cook (recipe books also supplied) For those who want to try the local fare it is only a short walk to town centre. Railway station 5 mins from apartment if you want to go further afield. If weather takes a downward turn & confined to barracks there are plenty books, games and dvd's to keep you occupied. Property is situated in a quiet location. I would not hesitate in recommending this let - I know where I would want to stay if visiting North Berwick in the future - looking forward to a return visit
