Fantastic relaxed week in a beautiful apartment in a great location"

We couldn't have wished for a better week, the apartment was in the centre of everything you would want to do in Nice - 5 minutes from the beach, old Nice and shops. We looked forward to going back to a peacefully quiet apartment after a hectic day enjoying the sights and scenes of Nice. We'll look forward to our next visit.

Beaujolais was a great choice for our stay in Nice. The location was great and very peaceful. Everywhere we wanted to be close to was only minutes away. The Promenade des Anglais, Pl Massena, Old Town, Port , the wonderful bars and restaurants were all close by and within easy strolling distance. The apartment was extremely comfortable with every need catered for. It was beautifully presented to a very high standard and spotlessly clean.

We are certain to return to Beaujolais very soon.

"Superb again! Well Done"

This is our second time to Nice this year and we love it! Great value is important to me (being Scottish) and the four of us got a great deal staying in the 'Beaujolais' apartment. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed so we didn't have to eat out each night, instead we bought food from the flower market in the Vieux Nice and cooked up a feast back in the apartment. This time we explored further, Menton, and Eze were particular favourites. We have already booked to go back to Nice in Sept, what can I say J'Adore Nice!

Location description from owner

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

The French Riviera or Cote D'Azur as also known is a magical place with so much diversity on offer. Apart from the glamour, champagne lifestyle, and sumptuous yachts - this is only skimming the surface. Where else can you have the extravagance in winter of skiing in the morning and walking by the sea in the afternoon? Explore the beautiful coastal landscapes dotted with small beaches, jagged rock formations and incredible sparkling azure mediterranean which can be seen by car, train, bus, cycling or even walking. If you can tear yourself away from the views then look inland and you will more than like see pretty hilltop villages perched high and proud. These sunkissed and historical hill towns are brimming with culture and history.

Take time to appreciate the magnificent architecture of the Belle Epoque, Bourgois and Art Deco buildings to the Italian influenced buildings of the older quarters - colourful buildings with their pretty colourful wooden shutters. Visit the Picasso museum in Antibes, shop till you drop in Cannes, take a boat to St. Tropez, visit the Palace in Monaco, walk the enchanting path around Cap Ferrat, enjoy Sunday brunch in Eze, make your own French perfume in Grasse, explore the many galleries of St. Paul de Vence, visit the vineyards of Bellet and feel at home in Nice. And if you really want to live like a local then playing petanque (type of bowls played mostly by the older/retired generation) and drink pastis (anise-flavoured liqueur and aperitif ).

Nice

If you haven't been to Nice before then you are in for a treat. Nice is a warm, vibrant and fascinating city with everything to offer the visitor with its sunny climate, beaches, restaurants, art galleries, nightlife and museums. Vieux Nice (old town) is so charming with lots of pretty cobbled streets lined with shops, bakeries, restaurants concocting delicious smells. Nice has one of the most famous coastlines on the Cote d'Azur- the Baie des Anges. The main reason holiday makers choose to stay in this area is the proximity to the beach and Promenade but also the stunning views of the azure sea. Nice really does have everything to offer and I guess that's why tourists keep returning.

Neighbourhood

Place Mozart, Rue Verdi and Rossini are your neighbours here in the Musiciens quarter, which is ideally located between the seafront, the train station and the shopping streets. Le Romantic resides in a residential area popular with locals, with easy access to all amenities, and of course the ubiquitous boulangerie for fresh morning croissants. Just a 5 minute walk from Nice train station and even closer to Jean Medecin tram stop, public transport couldn't be easier. Beaujolais offers you the razzmatazz of the Carré D'Or, the serenity of the newly renovated central park area Promenade de Paillon, and the classic enjoyment of the Promenade des Anglais looking out across the azure waters of the Baie des Anges. All this within a 10 minute stroll.
Take a scroll through the 'Promenade du Paillon' - a beautiful urban walkway 1.2 in length, it lies between the new and the old town stretching from Place Garibaldi, passing through Place Massena and taking you right down to the promenade and sea. Enjoy the water mirror pavements, water jets, pretty vegetation and a childrens park.

Explore Vieux Nice ( old town) where you can find the famous Cours Saleya flower market, it also offers fresh produce and local favourites such as fruit, vegetable, cheese, olives, soaps, and flowers from early morning until midday. The wide sweep of the Baie des Anges is visible through the arches of the old town walls. The cobbled streets of Vieux Nice (old town) are alive with bustling restaurants, cafes, museums, art galleries, theatres, jazz bars, magnificent baroque churches and little shops selling delicious Nicoise specialities and artisan wares. Enjoy the many pretty plazas - Place Rossetti where you can treat yourself to one of the best Ice Creams at 'Fenocchio's', Place Francois for the daily fish market and the spacious Place Garibaldi which is just a stones throw from the apartment, is lined with a choice of bars and eateries.

For a great way to see an overview of Nice, take the steps or lift up to the Colline du Chateau which sits on top of a hill between the Port and the Old Town and offers stunning panoramic views. Bring your camera as is a very popular vantage point for photographing the stunning Baie des Anges. There are only the ruins of the Chateau remaining at the top, but you can also find a lovely park area with a choice of two cafes. If you prefer to avoid the steps up then you can also take the little white tourist train from the Promenade, or you can walk, cycle or use the lift.

“Excellent Location”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2016

A very well positioned apartment within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants and railway station .The apartment is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only negatives were the small verander and the steep service charge of €160 a week. Would use again if visiting Nice.

Hi Terry, So glad that you had a lovely stay in Nice , thank you for taking good care of our apartment and you are very welcome back anytime. The service fee is normally hidden and part of the rental fee , however we chose to have it as a separate payment on arrival for accountancy purposes as we don't live in Nice. Unfortunately yes guests assume it's an extra fee whereas it's really the rental price broken down as all rental properties charge for the services.. I hope this makes sense and softens the payment of 160 euro. Enjoy the remainder of the summer and hopefully see you soon.

“Perfect location and such comfortable beds!”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2016

This apartment was in the perfect location in Nice, being a minute walk from a boulangerie and a 5 minute walk to Jean Médecin (a main shopping location). We were also a 2 minute walk from a U express (a little supermarket) with everything that we needed. The apartment was lovely, and we were very comfortable. A few disadvantages though- not enough to put me off but worth mentioning! The furniture (wardrobes, chests of drawers etc) were more pretty than practical as the drawers in the room with 2 beds the drawers were quite awkward. Also the kitchen is quit small and can only just fit 2 people comfortably. The keys to the building are also a bit fiddly but once you get used to the key system it is fairly straightforward. We stayed when the football games were going on but we couldn't hear any noise which was very convenient considering it was near a main road. Would definitely recommend to families, groups of friends or singles.
