Nice la Belle is the fifth city of France. Its natural beauty and mild climate have attracted those in search of relaxation and inspiration. In 1878 the villa Kotschoubey was built as a summer palace for a Ukrainian princess on Baumettes (Villa is now the Musée des Beaux Arts , "Jules Cheret") and in 1950 the classic French Résidence des Baumettes was built in the palace gardens.
Baumettes is the best location in Nice. Baumettes is the only quiet green residential area in Nice close to the prom and city centre. It's well lit and safe, with excellent local shops and facilities, yet has retained its charm, with villas, castles , bijou hotels, and stately buildings.
The generous living room has a sheltered south balcony overlooking gardens with sculptures and citrus, magnolia and mimosa trees. Sunlight pours in from 2 balconies and you can relax on the huge sofa, chairs, TV with Satellite and wi-fi. The dining area is at the far end and has a balcony overlooking date palms. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need from a coffee machine, dishwasher, cooking utilities, pots and pans, spices and oils, a big fridge, dishes and cutlery; so you really can make yourself at home.
The master bedroom has a super king-size bed, a balcony which is bathed in the morning sun for breakfast, and an en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. The second bedroom is spacious, equipped with two single beds, and en-suite shower and WC. There's a third extra WC.
A baby cot can be added as well, let us know what you need – we will be more than happy to arrange.
Best and last, you'll have to force yourself to leave the apartment once you have sat in the shade on the lounge balcony. It's secluded and is perfect for dining, enjoy a cool drink and getting into the Holiday spirit!
We always walk along the prom to the harbour, old town/ and city centre, but there's a bus “ Résidence des Baumettes” which stops right outside and goes to the city centre
Have a wonderful stay and enjoy the Cote d'Azur!

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region
Nice is situated in the Alpes-Martime region between the azure sea and the limestone ranges of the Alps. Nearby and easily accessible are renown hill towns such as Grasse famous for its perfume makers, Eze for its medieval "eagles-nest" village and exotic garden, Vence for its colourful market and history of being home to renown belle époque painters, sculptors and ceramic artists, as well as the medieval villages of Peille and Peillon. Nice has 4 km of beaches, and there are lovely sandy beaches in Villefranche-sur-mer (a fishing harbour and site of a 16th century citadelle) and St. Juan les Pins (renown for its jazz festival). St. Jean Cap Ferrat is a prestigious haven for international celebrities and home to Villa Ephrussi de Rothchild and Beaulieu-sur-mer has an impressive yacht harbour and discreet palm-lined beaches. Cagnes-sur-Mer is surmounted by a picturesque village and 14th C. castle and a Renoir museum.
Famed for its Azure sea, promenade and beaches, Nice prepared a bid for the Winter Olympics! the sun shines 300 days per year. The promenade des Anglais was so named because Nice became the favourite wintering spot for Victorian England. Nice is second only to Paris for galleries, museums, theatre and Opera. Nice offers a wealth of activities from art (Chagall, Matisse and Dufy, modern art museums and art galleries); culture (theatres, opera, spectacles, concerts); sports (golf, tennis, cycling, riding, paragliding, swimming, SCUBA diving), and plenty of night-life. It is a safe city.
Nice has excellent bus and tram systems serving extensive pedestrian areas.
There are organized activities for tiny tots, seniors and the disabled. There is the whole spectrum of bookshops, coffee bars and restaurants, ice cream parlours, casinos, original language cinemas, lectures, exhibitions, guided tours, historical monuments and sites; markets and shops.
Nice has perfect transport links. Apart from the airport and the TGV there are good cornice roads and rail links to Monaco, Menton and Italy to the east, and Antibes, St Tropez etc towards Marseilles. The Autoroute runs behind nice and the main road to Grenoble starts 3k from Baumettes. You can walk in the hills within 40 min and walk or ski in the Alps in 2 hrs door-to-door.

"Fantastic French Apartment - we loved it!"
We travelled to Nice with 2 teenagers in August. The communication from Chris the owner and then Julian his representative in Nice prior to our trip had been excellent. This apartment felt like a home rather than a rental property. We loved the French feel it had. We have never stayed in such a well equipped property. We loved the location, it was quiet but only 5-10 mins walk to the beach, Promenade des Anglais and a wonderful boulangerie. We would definitely recommend this property.

Excellent apartment in a lovely residential area close to all the Nice attractions and promenade. The beach and prom is a short walk round the corner, with the bars/shops and restaurants on Rue De France about a 10-15 min walk away. It takes around 20-25 mins on foot into the bustling Old town along the Promenade De Anglais. There is a bus stop outside the apartment if needed but the walk is so pleasant. If you need the train you can walk to the station in about 20-25 mins. Apartment is quiet and private and the owner has gone to every length to ensure guests are looked after. You will receive terrific communication and prompt service. The lady that greets you on arrival is English and very nice to deal with. We couldnt have asked for any more and would highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking to spend time in Nice.
