Fantastic Reviews & Great Location : Renovated to a high standard, situated within 'Vieux Nice' , the apartment benefits from a number of full length, double glazed windows making it feel light and airy. It not only looks out onto the Rue de La Croix and some of the typical old buildings seen within this 'quartier' but also towards the Chapelle Saint Croix , a lovely baroque chapel dating back to the 17th century ( open Tuesday afternoons to the Public).
The building itself is18th Century and exudes charm with balconies and shutters and is typically French. The apartment sleeps 2 people comfortably. The lounge area benefits from two large windows to give alot of natural lighting with one of the windows opening onto a small balcony looking towards the chapel, the other window opening onto the fascinating streets within the Old town. The property has Satellite TV with (english) Sky News, CNN , BBC News, Bloomberg etc + many Freeview channels ( mostly in French but a great way to learn the language !) and Wi-Fi Internet access .
The bedroom is fresh and light and benefits from a large built in wardrobe and a floor to ceiling window which opens onto a small balcony which looks towards the 'Parc' and beyond. The new en suite shower room has been freshly tiled and painted, with a wall mirror and suitable lighting. It also provides heating if necessary.
The brand new kitchen area provides all the amenities you require to make your stay a comfortable one with a round folding table which easily seats up to 4 people to enjoy your freshly prepared meals, accompanied of course by a glass of rosé in the evenings !
In the cooler months , the apartment benefts from wall mounted heaters, both in the lounge area and the bedroom which soon heats up the apartment to make it warm and cosy.
The surrounding area has a real French feel to it with lots of narrow streets to navigate your way through to the many restaurants and patisseries for you to try some of the local delicacies, all of which are a short walk away towards the Cours Saleya. Place Massena is within a 10 min walk and has many restaurants, bars and shops with a great vibrant feel to it whether it be during the day or at night when the place buzzes with enthusiasm and excitement. Not to be missed !
Behind the property, you can walk up to Le Parc du Chateau with spectacular views over Nice and beyond. Here you get an amazing view over the bay of Nice ( the Baie des Anges) towards the airport and also towards the Port with its many private yachts and cruise ships. Alternatively, you can catch the white tourist train along the Promenade des Anglais to the top of the park, which takes you through the Old Town along the way and is well worth a trip. Or, you can simply stroll along the Promenade or sit and watch the world go by whilst appreciating the breathtaking colour of the azure blue sea which can be seen on many of the sunny days. In the evening, why not watch the sun as it sets over the Baie des Anges. As they say, the world is your oyster and here you can enjoy and savour every minute of it to the full.

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region
If this is your first visit to the Cote D'Azur, then you are in for a real treat ! There is so much to do for all members of the family with so many exciting places to see, you will not be disappointed. Nice is fun, cultural, sophisticated and exudes charm with a capital C , so enjoy ! We are blessed here with a most amazing Mediterranean climate with mild temperatures most of the year and some 300 days of sun ! The summer months can be particularly hot with temperatures reaching 30°c during July and August.
There are so many wonderful places to explore along the coastline such as Cannes and Monaco both within easy reach either by bus or train and well worth seeing to get the full flavour of the glitzy side of the Cote D'Azur with the many super yachts of the rich and famous. A few stops after Monaco by train and you are in Italy where there is a huge market held every Friday morning with lots of bargains to be had with special mention here of the wonderful Italian leather goods ( takes approx 45 mins by train from Nice station).
Provence is clearly renowned for its rosé wine and lavender fields and if you want to venture further inland then why not pick up a hire car and head towards the vineyards and sample some of the locally produced goods - a fantastic way to see rural France at its best ! Alternatively, in late July / August why not head towards the lavender fields , they really are a truly magnificent sight to behold with a ' carpet' of lavender everywhere.
During the winter months, then why not spend a day or two at one of the ski resorts which are within easy distance ( about 1 and a half hours by car) - the resorts of Isola 2000 and Auron are very popular and are well worth a visit, even if its your first time then why not give it a go - there are not many places where you can be by the sea in the morning and ski-ing by midday !
Nice has attracted many famous people over the years and is full of culture and if art is your 'thing' then why not visit some of the many museums such as the Musee Chagall or Musee Matisse or indeed the Maeght Foundation in nearby St Paul de Vence which holds a mix of modern and contemporary art and contains one of the most important collections in Europe ( you can get to St Paul de Vence in about an hour by bus from the main bus station in Nice). Alternatively, you can visit one of the many Churches / Cathedrals in Nice, some dating back to the 17th Century.
Throughout the whole year there is something going on and events NOT to be missed include :
*The Fete du Citron in Menton with fantastic exhibitions and carnivals with floats made out of citrus fruits
*Nice Carnival - 2010 years theme is The Blue Planet - FULL of huge floats and a great party atmosphere
*Nice Jazz Festival - held at the end of July and attracts people from all over
* Cannes International Firework Festival - countries compete with a grand spectacular of fireworks to music
NOT forgetting to mention of course, the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix and many, many more events !
If you prefer to simply 'chill' and enjoy the sunshine then why not take a sun lounger on the beach, take a dip in the azure sea and maybe treat yourself to a leisurely lunch at one of the many wonderful restaurants along the beach front and sit and watch the world go - what a wonderful life !

"Light, airy and superbly located in Nice Old Town with everything supplied for a great stay."
We found this to be a wonderful holiday apartment. There was everything there to facilitate our stay - from beach towels and mats, to umbrellas for the occasional thunderstorm. Because of this, we soon felt right at home. We went to Nice to 'chill'. With just a short walk to the beach, to restaurants, parks and all local amenities, we were able to do just that. And when we weren't 'chilling' in the surrounding area, we were 'chilling' in this lovely light and airy space. What more could we have asked for? Highly recommended.

"Lovely apartment in a great location"
We booked this flat through 'homeaway' and it was our first self catering holiday so we were a little bit nervous. Sheena was very helpful in responding to all of my pre holiday questions. When we got there we were greeted as agreed and were grateful to find a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge, we were shown where everything was. The apartment contains everything you could possibly need; pots, pans, plates, cutlery, washing machine etc.. even beach towels and beach mats! As for the location, we couldn't have hoped for better; beach, market, tram stop, bus stops all a short walk away. Restaurants and bars galore everywhere you look. Nice has shot to the top of our recommended holiday destinations and we'l definitely be coming again!

"Irn Bru Stay !!! PHENOMENAL !!"
Well where to start ? 3rd year in Nice for the Monaco Grand Prix. 1st year in Rue Blacas = 1st class, 2nd year booked through Booking.com in Port Area called Arson Plaza = Disgusting DO NOT GO. 3rd year discovered this wee jewel in Rue de la Croix in the old town and hey presto = back to 1st class. Location 10, EVERYTHING IS ON YOUR DOORSTEP AND WHAT AN ATMOSPHERE !!, cleanliness 10, facilities 10, there was everything you could ever need, right down to shampoo and conditioner in the shower !!, you could eat your frogs legs off the floor ( we were going to try them but could'nt catch the wee slippery buggers) ONLY KIDDING!!!. Sheena met us at the bus stop and took us to the apartment, gave us a wee tour to explain where everything was and even left a welcome pack consisting of wine, milk, water, croissants, fillet steak, mashed potatoes !!!!!!!!!! kidding again (well only about the steak and potatoes) but this place and the owner just made us feel so good. There was even a apartment guide brochure with every kind of info, TV,DVD,WI FI, When our holiday was over I called Sheena to arrange key collection and she arrived right on cue, we had a wee chat about our break and the apartment shook hands and said our goodbyes. Headed for the Airport and headed home and by the time we had arrived at Edinburgh she had refunded our deposit, Now that is some service. All I can say about Sheena is that she is a star, from the first call through e mails etc, and a really nice Lady in to the bargain and we would give her a 10 also. So all the best Sheena and perhaps we will see you again in the future, keep up the excellent work. Very best wishes J and E Bonny Scotland

"The perfect apartment in a perfect location in a perfect city!!"
This apartment was in a perfect location and, although small, it is efficient and very comfortable. Sheena and Michael are wonderful hosts. Prior to our arrival, we received multiple email from Sheena about the apartment and she was wonderful in helping us plan our trip. She met us at the apartment, and even had some welcoming items there for us. When the television was not working, she came and fixed it promptly. We would highly recommend this lovely spot and hope to return sometime in the future.

"Great little apartment in the heart of the old town"
We had a wonderful stay in this apartment which was in the heart of the old town of Nice and close to all the amenities. The place was spotless and our host actually met us off the bus and gave us a tour of the apartment and surrounding areas. As in the advert, the apartment is for relatively fit people as it's on the 3rd floor with no lift but you get used to it! We really felt we were living the life as a local and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the same sort of holiday.

"Size isn't everything"
The apartment may be small but it's perfectly formed. It's got everything you could want. The weather wasn't great when we stayed but the heating in the flat kept us warm. Sheena (the owner) met us off the bus so we had no trouble finding the place and we were given an intro to all its bits and pieces. It's situated in the heart of the old town but on a quiet street. If you're looking to stay in the old town this flat will offer you a great and comfy home for your holiday (as long as you don't mind 3 floors of steep stairs!).

"Lovely, clean flat in great location with very helpful and friendly owner"
Had no problems here whatsoever. The flat is situated in Nice's vibrant old town and ideal for anyone looking for more than just a hotel room whilst on holiday! It was very clean, refurbished and easy to access. Furthermore, it is very central and close to the hustle and bustle of both the old town with it's many restaurants/bars, shops and markets (only a few minutes walk to the promenade and chateau!) as well as the centre of Nice. Buses to nearby sights/villages are also nearby. The flat had internet access and generally everything that was to be expected going by the advertisment. The owners were extremely friendly, helpful and seem to have thought of everything from a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival to beach towels. Can only highly recommend this place.

"Marvelous Nice apartment"
My wife and I stayed for three weeks in this fabulous Old Town Nice apartment. Everything was wonderful. We were given a bottle of wine and some essentials to get us started which was very much appreciated. On top of the excellent facilities there are so many little extras which made our stay even more enjoyable - beach umbrella, mats, games etc. The trip suggestion book was also great help to us and contained detailed descriptions of the places we visited. The location of the apartment is fantastic as you are just minutes away from the bus or tram which links to the main railway station. There are several good supermarkets within walking distance. Local restaurants are varied and there is ample opportunity to buy food locally and cook yourself if you are on a smaller budget. There were no noise issues at all. I slept like a baby every night for three weeks. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone. Sheena - the owner - is extremely helpful, professional and friendly. If we go back to Nice I would not think of staying anywhere else.

"A quiet, clean, 5 star calibre haven in Vieux Nice"
This is a well cared for, recently renovated property - extremely clean, very nicely decorated (it actually looks like all the photos). I received a very warm welcome from the owner who was keen that I had everything possible to make my holiday as perfect as possible. With pleasing views over a church facade, the rooftops of Vieux Nice, and some greenery, the location is perfect; - a good balance of being near all imaginable facitilities (fountain gardens, the market, the Promenade des Anglais, the old churches, and countless boulangeries to choose from for croissants every morning). The flat is very comfortable and welcoming after a day exploring. Well equipped to cook your own meals if you don't want to eat out all the time, and to catch up on some rest listening to the radio, the TV or watching a DVD.
