Self Catering Accommodation in Newton Stewart
This little self catering gem sits on the banks of the river Cree, only a few minutes walk away from the bustling market town of Newton Stewart, in the heart of one of Scotland`s most beautiful regions.
It is the ideal base for couples who wish to take advantage of the many outdoor activities that this wonderful area has to offer: golf, fishing, cycling, hill-walking, rambling, birdwatching - all amidst scenery that is simply breathtaking. A fisherman's alley runs behind the cottage to the river bank, where you could fish for salmon, or in the opposite direction lies Newton Stewart Golf Course, an 18-hole parkland course with wonderful views. If your interest is mountain biking, the 7-stanes trails at Kirroughtree and Glentrool are just a few miles away.
For those who simply wish to explore, Dumfries and Galloway can offer you a craggy coastline dotted with beaches and seaside villages, botanic gardens, castles, archaeological sites and quiet little country roads with a surprise around every corner.
Many of Scotland`s up-and-coming tourist attractions are an easy day trip from Stone Cottage - Whithorn, the cradle of Scottish Christianity; Creetown's Country Music Festival; Kirkcudbright , the town of artists; the food town of Castle Douglas and, of course, Dumfries, once the home of Robert Burns
