Primrose Barn is a converted end of terrace barn in lovely rural surroundings with superb front and side views of the countryside looking towards Colan, St Mawgan and St Columb Minor near Newquay.

The barn enjoys an elevated position to take advantage of this uninterrupted rural setting within its own private meadow amongst eighteen acres of woods and fields. The property would appeal to couples and families who enjoy the countryside and yet Newquay's beaches are only fifteen minutes away by car. With the barns in such a good rural location there is a variety of wildlife on hand, fishing lakes closeby and DairyLand is a popular tourist attraction two miles away.

The property has its own private terrace with furniture and a BBQ.

There is a parking area and turning bay near the building and guests can enjoy the large meadow field. There is also a purpose built childrens play area with swing and slide.

What ever time of year you choose to visit North Cornwall you can be guaranteed of plenty to do. You can enjoy rugged cliff top walks, surfing or relaxing on many glorious sandy beaches. Cornwall really is a place of outstanding natural beauty.

The Eden Project is within a half hour drive of Newquay. The cultural centre of Penzance is 40 miles away. St Ives, Mousehole and Lands End all have their own charm. Visit the Minack theatre where you can enjoy an outside performance with an enchanting back drop. Don't forget to bring your picnic hamper and wine!

Newquay

Although renowned for its fabulous coastline and beaches, there is more to Newquay than sea and surf. The only zoo in Cornwall is here with over 300 animals and fabulous landscaped gardens, or see sharks and stingrays at the Blue Reef Aquarium.

There are also the delights of a cafe society with trendy beach side bistros, stylish high street venues and local restaurants including Jamie Oliver's 'Fifteen' at Watergate Bay. Traditional British food is always available from the cafes, pubs and take-aways around the town.

Newquay is great for children and adults alike with it's trendy night-life and days relaxing on the golden sands. Play a round of golf or take a trip around Newquay bay and catch some mackerel. Indulge in a little retail therapy or visit some of Newquay's fantastic attractions.

Or if you really do live to surf, look no further than the famous Fistral Beach.

“Great location/views”

We really enjoyed our stay at Primrose Barn, the views were beautiful and the sunset was nice to watch in the evenings. The barn had everything you needed and we was provided with cream tea which was a bonus. I would stay here again! Only downfall was that there was no wifi connection and we also had no signal so could not look for things/places to visit online, the cornwall magazine helped with this though!

“Stunning views”

Very nice place. Few minor problems for us with a toddler. Could do with being able to block oven off or could have been higher up. Also needs a gate or something on the steps outside but we managed fine without either we just improvised!! Great location for us x wifi would be nice too

“Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful setting”

We've just had a wonderful week at Primrose Barn. The barn was outstanding, spotlessly clean and the setting was fantastic. Very peaceful overlooking meadow and countryside but only 10 minute drive to our favourite beach at Watergate Bay. We were lucky to have great weather for the entire week and so made much use of the BBQ and outside terrace. I would recommend this place without hesitation. We're already planning our next visit!

“Absolutely Brilliant!”

Booked this property through David at Self Cater Cornwall only a couple of weeks before we went as we needed somewhere quickly. David was very helpful and even rang me in the evening with information I needed. I read a couple of the reviews and looked at the facilities very briefly, so I knew there were stunning views but the photos and reviews did not do it justice at all! The info says there is a meadow in front of the barn which is yours to share with the other two families. It is HUGE. There is also an excellent safe enclosed play park with a fort and slide, a baby swing, child swing and monkey rings, which our visiting 3 grandchildren absolutely loved. As to the facilities in the property, it is by far the best appointed rental property we have ever stayed in since 1987, and we've stayed in some very good ones! Everything has been thought of and provided. It was also spotlessly clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone visiting the Newquay area. Absolutely superb!
