With spectacular sea views across Mounts Bay to St Michaels Mount & the Lizard Peninsula, Lookout cottage is a comfortable & convenient base from which to explore West Cornwall at any time of the year. Lookout Cottage is a traditional, 100 year old, granite cottage situated in a quiet traffic-free terrace (pedestrian access only) on the edge of Newlyn. The property overlooks the approaches to Newlyn Harbour & has panoramic sea views over Mounts Bay to St Michaels Mount. Within 200m walking distance of the cottage is a pebble beach & rock pools.

Newlyn is a convenient base for holidaying in West Cornwall. It has all the amenities a holidaymaker needs plus the interest value of a working harbour. It's offers small art galleries, cafés, convenience shops & a small co-op store.

About Lookout Cottage:-

The property has 3 bedrooms including an attractive attic room & sleeps a maximum of 6 persons. There is a pebble covered beach approximately 200 metres front the property. The accommodation is comfortable all year around with double glazing & full gas central heating. All bedding is supplied. Towels are provided for personal, kitchen use. Gas Central heating & electricity are included in the rental.

We have free WiFi at the Lookout Cottage.


Changeover day is normally Friday (arrival 3 pm, depart following Friday 10.00 am). Prompt departure is essential to allow the caretaker to prepare the property for the next tenant.

A large dining table with seating for 6 people & sea glimpses through the lounge area.

First Floor

Double bed, superb panoramic sea views over Mount's Bay.

Twin beds in loft conversion, TV/DVD player, amazing sea views.

Car Parking: We have our own car parking space at the bottom of the pedestrianised lane, which is a major bonus especially during the busy months.

Local attractions:

Penzance , 2 miles away provides a wider range of shops, supermarkets & entertainments.

Mousehole, the picturesque fishing village lies within a short walk along the footpath.

Spectacular sandy beaches only a short drive away. Gardens - there are some excellent gardens in the area including Trengwainton and Trewidden.

Acorn Theatre, Penzance for a diverse range of events performed in an intimate atmosphere. Penlee House Gallery & Museum in Penzance has a fine collection of Newlyn School paintings & runs various exhibitions. There is also the futuristic Exchange Art Gallery in the centre of Penzance & numerous smaller commercial galleries in the area.

St. Michael's Mount (National Trust) - check the tide to see if you can walk across the causeway to this iconic landmark.

Geevor Tin Mine - mine tours and museum. Isles of Scilly - day trips by sea from Penzance or air from Lands End Airport.

South West Coastal Path – numerous stunning walks around the Penwith Peninsula.

St. Ives - lots of art galleries including The Tate. Excellent beaches and good restaurants. Minack Theatre – an open air theatre operating in the summer season only (book in advance). Also museum & tea shop with spectacular views. Museum of Submarine Telegraphy, Porthcurno - a secret wartime communications centre with interactive exhibits.
