StoneyGill B is a 2 bedroom apartment on the upper floor; it has no stair access because the property is on a slight slope.

Internally there is a set of 3 steps with a handrail.
There is private off, road parking and superb views all around.
It makes a great base for a walking holiday and a large proportion of visitors regularly return.

StoneyGill 'B' comprises :

A large bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.

A further large bedroom with twin beds and a chest of drawers

The bathroom has a bath with a good separate shower , w.c

The living space contains a Kitchenette and Dining and seating area.
Marvellous views across the Newlands Valley to Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Catbells
Behind the house are walks to Causey Pike, Barrow and Grisedale Pike.

The kitchen area has a Fridge, Toaster, Electric hob, Dishwasher, Microwave, Oven / grill, a Washing Machine with drier.
There is a Gas fire, freesat Tv and dvd player.

We just came back from a week at David's StoneyGill B so the memories are very fresh - so fresh that I am googling for property in Newlands valley! Even if we don't manage to leave London and buy a sheep farm, we hope to return here at some point! On property: - bigger & much brighter in real life than one could perhaps assume from the photos - we traveled with a baby and a toddler and David provided the cot & highchair which was much appreciated - heating (small baby) worked great & all amenities are there (dishwasher, washer/dryer) - beautiful views from every window in the apartment - e.g. our son enjoyed waking up and looking at cows from his bedroom window! - beautifully maintained garden area for the kids to run around - plenty of board games / toys in the living room to keep an inquisitive toddler occupied! - plenty of books and maps of the area to keep the parents occupied - David quick in his response to e-mails and on hand to help out (e.g. we broke the washer/dryer and it was repaired the next day!) On location: - Newlands valley is truly an exceptional place, I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Lakes - plenty of sheep, cows, pheasants etc. to keep the young occupied - beautiful trails up the mountains - literally right behind the house! - trails along the Newlands valley, view of Catbells from living room - you can walk across the valley to Hawes End at Derwentwater and take the boat to Keswick - 10min drive to Keswick Booths for grocery shopping - short drive over the pass to Buttermere What could be better: - I'm being really picky here as there are plenty of kitchen utensils/pots available, but perhaps a large frying pan would be useful If you're looking for peaceful location with access to 'nature' outside the house door with no need to drive anywhere, this is the place for you!

Fabulous place to stay everything you need is available in the flat it felt like home clean and well looked after, the location could not be better it is quiet and has stunning views, if you hike a lot then you can leave the car and walk straight out on to the hills, it is also a short walk to Keswick (3 miles), Eating out you can either have a short drive to Keswick or walk to Braithwaite where there are to Pubs that serve food.

Tastefully decorated and cosy accommodation that made for a relaxing holiday. The dual aspect views from the living-room were much nicer to look at than the TV! We had a warm welcome from David, with cake and tea as a welcome pack. We loved this place, would definitely recommend it, and are keen to go back soon.

Ideal base for a peaceful walking holiday - no need to use the car as there are routes into the mountains from the doorstep. Near enough to Keswick, Braithwaite if you need civilization, but far enough away to appreciate the peaceful Newlands Valley. Apartment has glorious views from all windows. It is well equipped, clean and comfortable - couldn't fault it on any counts!

daved the owner lives next door,so any queries,can be quickly delt with,at the same time you always feel the property is your own,were you can completly relax in.views from stony gill are stunning,you have a wide panoramic view from the front,and a differant view from the side.its cosy,warm,well equiped.newlands valley is beutifful,and its the position of stonygill that gives this rental a must go to place.20min walk to the swinside pub,on a dark stary night'amazing' walk.keswick 3mls again a realy nice walk.once you park the car up on arrivel you dont really need it again.if you want to come back refreshed after a week away,this is the place.

This place was very nice. Appliances were great and the location was really nice too - close to many awesome hikes. My only recommendation would be to replace the double mattress or put a soft mattress topper on, as the bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable. Otherwise, the place was great.

My wife and I came here with our toddler for a week at the end of October and, despite the terrible weather for 6 out of 7 days, nothing could spoil our stay here. David, the owner was welcoming, courteous helpful and unobtrusive, the apartment is comfortable, warm, pleasantly decorated and the kitchen is very well-equipped. More importantly, it was very clean on arrival. The DVD collection and toys were ideal for both us and our little boy and the views towards Swinside, Keswick and Catbells are wonderful. We'd come back here in an instant. (If you're selling please let us know, David.) We didn't have any problems with the apartment whilst we were there but I would hazard a guess that David would be more than helpful in sorting out any issues as quickly as possible.
